SPRING WREATH MAKING this March
Survey report is NOW LIVE! You can read it HERE
Find out more below about the process of how we undertook the first ever survey of the Black Mount community 👇🏼👇🏾👇🏿
Between August 2023 and April 2024 we asked for your voices to help shape the future of the Black Mount Community. An incredible 20% of you spoke up! Through this survey you have had the opportunity to express your views about life in the Black Mount area and your priorities for the area. So we thank you for taking the time to fill in the questionnaire and adding your voice to help influence the future of our local community.
All responses were treated as confidential and comments anonymised.
There was an optional prize draw with Dr R. Alasdair B. Young winning a £30 voucher to spend at Errington's Barn. The winner was notified in June 2024 and all other entries were deleted shortly afterward.
The survey was developed by a steering group of community members acting in a voluntary capacity. Members of the steering group were based across Black Mount including: Dolphinton, Dunsyre, Elsrickle and Weston.
Steering group:*
Dr Emma Ives (chair of Black Mount Primary Parent Council)
Nicola Levy (treasurer of the Dolphinton Women's Institute)
John McCann
Dr Sarah McGlasson (member of Black Mount Community Council)
Nick Tucker (vice-chair of Black Mount Primary Parent Council)
We would also like to thank the following people for their advice and support and contributing to our knowledge and understanding as we developed the community survey, including: Louise Williamson (Community Development Officer at South Lanarkshire Council), Patricia Mavor (Development Manager at Woolfords, Auchengray and Tarbrax Improvement Foundation), Joan Highton, and Douglas Westwater (CEO of Community Enterprise).
