When we practice doing something, it gets easier. The more we practice, the more it becomes part of who we are. We can practice how to live God's way. We will never be perfect at it, but the more we practice living God's way, the more we start to live like Jesus.
Knowing and doing are two different things. The difference is practice! God shows us how to live his way in the Bible, but to live God's way we have to know God's Word and actually live it out, again and again.
Psalm 119:11 says:
I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.
When we store up God's Word, we remember it and hold onto it because it will help us live God's way. Living God's way is the opposite of sin. We won't ever be perfect, but when we work at knowing God more and living his way, we love others like he loves us.
Jesus showed God's love to others, and we can follow his example. Jesus died for our sins and rose again so that our sins can be forgiven and we can be with God forever.
Practice a simple skill like tossing a ball 3 times. Notice improvement. Say: “We grow in wisdom the same way! practice!
Recite Psalm 119:11 while walking on tip toes across the room:
I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.
Say together: I can practive living God's way!
Thank God for loving you. Ask him to help you learn his Word and practice living his way.
