Welcome the new members to the group chat by "@" them
Remind them to change their group alias (First & Last Name, School abbreviation & graduation)
Send them the link to the Bilingual Storytime orientation
Send them the link to the Bilingual Storytime website
Ask them to view the "Videos" tab in the website to get a feel of what voices they should use and how they should edit the videos
Contact them privately and ask for the following
First & Last Name
High School & Graduation Year
Preferred Email
Preferred Task (photographer, translator, Chinese or English reader, & editor)
Once you have asked for this info, please update the CC-Bilingual Google Sheets ordered by high school graduation year
When viewing videos, you are looking for the following
Do their voices match the context of the story book?
Is there any distracting background noise? Is so, please point it out and ask them to fix it
Does the music fit the story book?
Does the video follow the correct format?
a. Intro Video
b. Self - Introductions with their pictures
c. Reading of the Story
d. "Thanks for Viewing!" page
e. Ending Video
Identify the video's areas of improvement and where the whole team can learn from
Did the editor use the zoom in/zoom out effect? If not, please remind them to do so, so the video looks more lively
Start with an encouraging phrase "Nice job!" etc. then continue with your suggestions

Open the Chinese version of the book with the English version of the book
Check for errors and or missed pages
If all is looking good, contact the translator and direct them to the hour forms
This is mostly when you notice that the team isn't too active. We want to make sure that everyone is active and participating at least 2 times per school semester & there is at least 1 video out each month
Remind them of the task list
Remind them to turn in their reflections (~100 words) + picture for 1 hr. of community service - turn in to Cindy Li
This is mostly to get an idea of where everyone, who have signed up for a task, is at with their task.
Check-in with them and remind them that they have signed up for a specific task
Ask if they would like additional time
Some members might be interested in trying new tasks out of their comfort zone, but don't know where to start
