Most of the models below use the Tintin decal sets produced by Blue Rider and their reference manual "Scale Modeller's Guide to Aircraft from the Adventures of Tintin": https://www.insigniamag.com/
Aircraft: Supermarine Spitfire - Khemedi Air Force
Story: The Land of Black Gold
Kit: Airfix
Notes: This Khemedi Spitfire appears dropping leaflets on rebel Sheikh Bab El Ehr's camp, where Tintin is in captivity. This is built from the Mk IX kit, which has the right underwing intakes/coolers, but with a modified prop spinner and cockpit from a Mk I.
Aircraft: Hawker Demon
Kit: Airfix
Story: Cigars of the Pharaoh
Notes: This appears in Cigars of the Pharaoh and shoots Tintin down after he steals a Puss Moth to escape from trouble. In hindsight I realised the aircraft is actually a Hawker Hart, not a Demon, but the Demon is a near enough match. The paint is more green than these photos show.
Aircraft: Airco DH.4
Kit: Airfix
Notes: This model is based on the John Harris story "The Revolutionaries". In the story, the fiancee of the hero (Martin Falconer) is kidnapped for ransom by Mexican bandits. Martin buys a dilapidated war-surplus DH.4 and Avro 504, fixes them up and mounts a rescue attempt. In the story, the DH4 has damage to one wing which is repaired with new linen.
My brother writes aviation fiction and recently I've started building models from these stories for him to display.

Aircraft: ALbatros D.III
Kit: Revell
Notes: My brief was an Albatros from mid 1917. I had free rein, really. This was the end result.
