Aircraft: Grumman F9F-3 Panther
Kit: Hasegawa
Notes: Built for a blitz - about 6 hours of work all told. I really like the look of the Panther above any other jet of its era. Something about it just works.
Aircraft: Piaggio P.136
Kit: Broplan (vacform)
Notes: I originally bought this for a Biggles build then realised it was unsuitable so I built it as-is. Scheme is fictitious but loosely based on a real one. Nice enough kit but soooooo much filler needed.
Aircraft: Fairchild A-10 Thunderbolt (Warthog)
Kit: Monogram
Notes: Due to my intense dislike of grey camo, I searched hard for an interesting scheme for this. I was hoping for a night fighter variant in black, perhaps. This was the only thing that appealed - an experimental arctic scheme from "Operation Cool Snow Hog".
Aircraft: Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird
Kit: Hasegawa
Notes: This is an incredibly beautiful aircraft that has fascinated me since I was a kid. I built this in the markings of the one displayed at Duxford air museum, which I saw when I was there many years ago.
Aircraft: Lockheed C-130H Hercules
Kit: Italeri
Notes: A regular at airshows through my childhood and a faithful workhorse around the world, especially here in Aus. Getting the colour right was challenging for this RAAF beast. Not entirely confident that I did.

Aircraft: MV-22 Osprey
Kit: Revell
Notes: Grey camo does not work for me. I needed something interesting for this and found a hypothetical Canadian Search-And-Rescue scheme. I printed my own decals, borrowing some graphics from existing SAR aircraft decal sets. The stripe was masked and painted. People love this one (especially Canadians!)
Aircraft: Mikoyan Mig-15
Kit: KP Models
Notes: Pretty horrid kit from the early days of KP. Pretty much a case of just getting it built, no frills. Scheme is North Korean from the war.
Aircraft: Mikoyan Mig 21
Kit: Hasegawa
Notes: Built for a group build of anything that has been in service 50 years or more. The Mig 21 is a survivor. Built in the 1960s and still in service in some places! A worthy modelling subject. This one is a Czech aircraft from the 90s.
Aircraft: Mikoyan Mig-25P Foxbat
Kit: Condor
Notes: Built in Ukrainian colours (because I won't build in modern Russian schemes for the same reason I generally avoid Nazi German schemes) and in a blitz. The Foxbat is an absolute monster! It dwarfs all other modern fighters in the cabinet.

Aircraft: Antonov AN-12Â
Kit: Roden
Notes: I read a book called "Outlaws Inc" about ex-USSR pilots who got out when the iron curtain came down and grabbed whatever wasn't nailed down, such as large military cargo aircraft. These guys then flew questionable cargo, no-questions-asked, throughout the 90s for whoever was paying. Often they were the only ones with the skills, guts and sufficiently robust aircraft to fly UN aid drops into war zones. Fascinating stuff. This scheme is from a real aircraft that I very strongly suspect was part of such shennanigans. It makes for a big boy in my display space!
