BHRI RAG FAQ

Is BHRI RAG funded by outside donors?

No. The monthly BHRI RAG allocation is funded directly from BHRI’s institutional resources.

How much support is available each month?

BHRI allocates up to BDT 200,000 per monthly funding cycle.

The allocation may be divided among multiple eligible applicants.

Will I receive cash?

No. BHRI RAG is currently a non-cash institutional grant. Approved assistance is applied directly toward eligible BHRI Research Support & Capacity Building or BHRI ERC administrative fees.

Can I receive a full fee waiver?

Yes. The Committee may approve full assistance where the request is justified and sufficient monthly allocation is available.

Can I receive partial assistance?

Yes. The Committee may approve part of the applicable fee and ask the applicant to contribute the remaining amount.

Can an independent researcher apply?

Yes. Formal institutional affiliation is not automatically required.

Can students and early-career researchers apply?

Yes. Students, trainees, and early-career researchers are encouraged to apply.

Can I request both research-support and ERC fee assistance?

Yes. A combined request may be considered where both forms of assistance are necessary and justified.

Does BHRI RAG guarantee ethical approval?

No. Fee assistance and ethical review are completely separate decisions.

Does BHRI RAG guarantee publication?

No. BHRI cannot guarantee research completion, positive findings, manuscript acceptance, or publication.

Will BHRI claim authorship?

No. Receiving BHRI RAG support does not create any automatic authorship entitlement.

Can I apply again if I am not selected?

Yes. You may apply in a later cycle, particularly after addressing any issues identified during the previous assessment.

Can previous recipients apply again?

Yes, subject to satisfactory completion of previous obligations, continued need, justification, and availability of support.

Is there an application fee?

No application fee is charged for submitting a BHRI RAG application.
