Silver Spring Neighborhood Center
Silver Spring Neighborhood Center offers FREE after-school programs with focuses on academic improvement, youth development, drug and violence prevention programs, art, music, and much more. They offer multiple programs to develop and enhance participants' interpersonal, academic, and leadership skills, plus programs designed to reduce violence and teen pregnancy among the teens we serve. Casa Romero's Youth Programs cultivate students' self-awareness, leadership capacity, faith life, and commitment to service, with the aim of empowering Milwaukee's urban youth to be a powerful voice in their community as agents of hope and positive change. City Champs is opening the door to martial arts and boxers in Milwaukee through their Building Character programs. City Champs is partnering with numerous organizations and gyms to provide free martial arts and boxing training for youth, incorporating kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and self-defense techniques while intertwining lessons about respect, discipline, empathy, and mental resilience. Diverse and Resilient Youth Programming work to create gender-inclusive and affirming environments for all youths in high school and young people. We empower QTBIPOC to explore their identities, understand healthy relationships, make proud choices, promote resilience, & connect to peers and community through programming, mentorship, peer support, leadership opportunities, and career readiness. Youth Empowerment Space (YES) is a weekly in-person and virtual space that invites all youths who have an interest in LGBTQIA+ advocacy, social justice, and learning more about gender and identity. The Public Housing waiting list will open on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at 9:00 AM CST. HACM will begin accepting PUBLIC HOUSING waiting list applications at that time.

Waiting list applications will be accepted online only
Participants in HACM’s subsidized housing programs typically pay 30 percent of their income for rent, and through funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, HACM pays the difference.
Interested individuals may apply for any waiting lists they are interested in. After an individual applies to a waiting list, they will be contacted via email once their name is selected and invited to complete an application to determine eligibility. Due to a variety of factors, we are unable to provide those on waiting lists with their position on a particular waiting list.
