The 2027 application is currently available, and the deadline is September 30 at 5 p.m. ET. It is specifically for students graduating during the 2026–27 school year.

2. Circled In “No Sweat” Scholarship — $2,500
This is especially useful because 9th–12th graders can apply, there's no GPA or income requirement and no essay. The current deadline listed by a Wisconsin school district is September 30, 2026.

3. AES Engineers Scholarship — $500
Open to high-school seniors, and students do not have to pursue engineering. It requires a 500–1,000 word essay. Current deadline: October 8, 2026.

4. UW–Stevens Point 2027–28 Scholarships
For seniors considering UWSP, the scholarship application opened August 1, 2026. The priority deadline is December 1, with a final deadline of February 1, 2027.

6. MPS Foundation Scholarships — watch closely
For students attending Milwaukee Public Schools
The MPS Foundation administers 30+ scholarships for graduating MPS seniors; in 2026 it awarded more than $150,000 to 47 students. The Class of 2027 application cycle isn't posted as open yet.

For the Class of 2027, applications run December 1, 2026–January 10, 2027. Students generally must rank in the top 20% of their class.

Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarship — 500 four-year awards ranging from $4,000 to $30,000 total. Open to current U.S. high-school seniors who are U.S. citizens and plan to enroll full-time in a four-year U.S. college. Selection considers academics, leadership, and financial need. Deadline: November 12, 2026.

The Gates Scholarship — potentially covers the remaining full cost of attendance not covered by other financial aid for exceptional high-school seniors from low-income households. Wisconsin seniors can apply. Deadline: September 15, 2026. This is highly competitive, but Milwaukee seniors who meet the criteria should absolutely have it on their list.

University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee Panther Scholarship Portal — 2027–28 scholarships — the new General Application opened August 1, 2026. Students who have applied to UWM can use one application to be considered for more than 85% of UWM scholarships. Incoming students have a November 1, 2026 priority deadline. UWM also lists automatic freshman merit awards of approximately $2,000–$6,000 over four years, depending on GPA.

Harold S. Vincent Alumni Association Scholarship — $500. This is specifically for a current senior at Harold S. Vincent High School in Milwaukee. Financial need, community involvement, extracurricular participation, and a GPA of 2.0+ are preferred. Students submit a 400–600 word essay and at least one recommendation letter. Deadline: March 30, 2027. The scholarship page currently shows Open / Apply Now.

FAB Scholars Scholarship — $1,000. Three $1,000 awards are listed, with one specifically designated for a Milwaukee, Wisconsin graduating senior. Applicants must be graduating high-school seniors admitted to college/university for fall and demonstrate resilience, ambition, and commitment to their future. The application includes a video response of up to five minutes. Deadline: April 27, 2027. FAB Scholars is operated by the Milwaukee-based From a Butterfly Scholarship Foundation, which identifies itself as a 501(c)(3).

Nadella Scholarship in Tech Education — FULL RIDE. This is the standout opportunity. Applicants must graduate from a high school located in the City of Milwaukee, demonstrate financial need and academic merit/potential, and plan to pursue an eligible technology major at UWM, such as computer science, computer engineering, data science, information science & technology, or IT management. The last-dollar award can cover tuition, fees, on-campus housing and dining for up to five years. Students do not need prior high-school computer-science coursework. Deadline: February 1, 2027.
Nadella Scholarship application and details
New Directions Scholarship — up to $8,000. Incoming UWM freshmen pursuing a bachelor's degree in the College of Letters & Science can receive up to $2,000 per year, renewable for four years. Competitive applicants generally have a 3.70+ high-school GPA, strong writing and extracurricular involvement. Completing this application also puts the student into consideration for other first-year Letters & Science scholarships. Deadline: February 1, 2027.

Lubar College of Business Dean's Scholarship — up to $2,500 per year. Available to exceptional incoming first-year students admitted to UWM's Lubar College of Business. Students should have an unweighted high-school GPA of at least 3.5. The award is renewable if the student maintains the required college enrollment, GPA and course grades. Deadline: February 1, 2027.

Wisconsin Security Association Youth Scholarship Program — $1,500
This is a new Wisconsin opportunity worth sharing with eligible Milwaukee-area seniors. Two $1,500 scholarships are offered statewide: one for a graduating senior whose parent is an active-duty police department member and one for a graduating senior whose parent is an active-duty fire department member. Applicants are evaluated on academics, test scores, extracurricular activities and an essay about having a parent or guardian involved in securing the community. Wisconsin winners can also advance to the national Electronic Security Association competition for $14,000 or $5,000 scholarships.
Eligibility: Graduating Wisconsin high-school senior with a parent who is a full-time, active member of a Wisconsin police or fire department.
Award: $1,500; potential advancement to $14,000/$5,000 national awards.
Deadline: March 1, 2027.
Application status: The WISA page says applications are being accepted for the 2027 program, although another line on the same page says the formal start date is December 1, 2026. Because of that inconsistency, I recommend students use the official page and confirm submission availability before sending materials.
2027 WISA Youth Scholarship application and requirements
Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation — Coca-Cola Scholars Program: $20,000 each for 150 seniors. Open to students graduating during the 2026–27 school year with at least a 3.0 GPA, qualifying U.S. citizenship/residency status, and plans to attend an accredited U.S. postsecondary institution. Leadership and community service are major selection factors. Deadline: September 30, 2026 at 5 PM ET. The first-round application requires no essay, transcript, or recommendation.

The Gates Scholarship: Full cost of attendance not already covered by financial aid and the Student Aid Index. Open to high school seniors who are Pell-eligible, U.S. citizens or permanent residents, have at least a 3.3 weighted GPA, and plan to enroll full-time in a four-year degree program at an accredited nonprofit U.S. college or university. Deadline: September 15, 2026. This is a particularly valuable one to get to eligible seniors quickly.

Veterans of Foreign Wars — Voice of Democracy: $35,000 national first-place scholarship, with additional national awards up to $21,000 and each state winner receiving at least $1,000. Open to students in grades 9–12. Students prepare a recorded audio essay on the 2026–27 theme, “What a Veteran Taught Me About America.” Deadline: October 31, 2026. Entries are submitted through a participating local VFW Post.

Milwaukee Police Department — Police Aide (2-year paid apprentice-style program): Ages 17–19. Starting salary is $37,113.96/year for non-Milwaukee residents and $38,227.28/year for City of Milwaukee residents, with benefits. Police Aides receive on-the-job training, complete 24 paid college credits, and can receive tuition/textbook reimbursement while preparing for a potential career as a Milwaukee Police Officer. Deadline: December 4, 2026 at 4:00 PM. Location: Milwaukee Police Department assignments throughout Milwaukee. The City's current employment portal confirms the position is hiring now.

Starting salary is $37,113.96/year for non-Milwaukee residents and $38,227.28/year for City residents, plus benefits and tuition reimbursement. Cadets receive firefighter/EMT preparation, physical training and college coursework, with preferential entry into a future firefighter recruitment class after successful completion.
