What is a Blugold?
Although we may not be a mythical bird, like our friend Blu, we are all Blugolds, and Blugolds are what make UW-Eau Claire great. As former Chancellor Brian Levin-Stankevich stated, “The word Blugold embodies a certain spirit. It’s a state of being rather than a thing.” At UW-Eau Claire, Blugolds fly together to reach excellence in all aspects of their lives. They put in the time and effort to not only better themselves but to better the communities that surround them.
You can ask anyone and they will tell you that alumni from UW-Eau Claire remain some of the most loyal compared to the other Universities of Wisconsin. Chancellor Jim Schmidt states, "There is something special that happens during a student's time here that does that."
