There is something unusual about this orb they recovered. Who is behind the creation of it, and where does the human soul play into this?
Back when I started this story, Tatsuma was the round-faced one and Sikue had the more mature, narrow face. It was an odd contrast, considering that Tatsuma was much more tall and slender below the face. As my drawing style changed, I became less and less satisfied with their face shapes and switched them, so now Currently Sikue's got the chubbier, childish face, but this cover shows how they were originally.
Come to think of it, Sikue used to act more mature, too. Perhaps the face shapes subconsciously reflected on that...
Kenber's a teenage Boy with capital B. :P
As for the plot itself, I'm sure you're aware that the writing his very adolescent. It had minimal planning put into it. I didn't even settle on what the setting of the story was until shortly before that old granny showed up and info-dumped it (if you're wondering why it starts out looking like feudal Japan... Fwahaha!)
As stupid and embarrassing as some results were, I still look back fondly to those days. The complete freedom of slapping down everything that came to mind that "sounded cool at the time". I mean, there was a bit more to it. You still need to put some thought into what your characters need to grow and setting up themes, but it meant the road ahead was full of mystery and excitement! What lies in store for your characters and how will they change from it?
But it brings about those questions... what on earth is some crazy guy in a full suit of armor doing in a semi-modern setting, running around with a magic orb and a vengeance against humanity? Beats me! But we sure got some juicy plot-stuffs out of it! :')
Also, most Side Stories are completely optional to read, but down the road from here, there will be some references and foreshadowing of future events depicted in
> Flower Girls (Sikue's and Tatsuma's backstories)
> Grape Juice (A silly comic where we see what happens when the flowers drink juice)
> The Daisy's Vow and the Streamside (A ridiculous and embarrassing comic in which Tatsuma tries to play match-maker with her friends)
If you'd like to check them out now; they'll help some future events feel a little less out-of-nowhere.
