Working with clients from different cultures, one should have the flexibility to meet the needs of clients. Flexibility means learning, exploring, and having a creative approach. In the filed there will be times where there can be ambiguity, and using flexibility can help find the best approach to develop adequate problem-solving. Even with flexibility, one should consider ethical practice to ensure the safety of clients. Understanding ethical principles and finding innovative solutions is a skill that can help clients with their best interests in mind when faced with many challenging situations. Having flexibility helps to manage situations that come with challenges. As a counselor in training, it is essential to have flexibility to not only enhance the way we approach therapy. Flexibility can be a useful tool when applying it to treatment planning, as it helps to tailor the needs of clients. Another area where flexibility comes into play is understanding the client's values and perspective and utilizing the information to develop solutions and adapt to the situations. Throughout this program, I have recognized that having flexibility is important in different areas, such as rapport building, applying it to multicultural clients, and treatment planning. Overall, using flexibility helps to be prepared when difficulties arise.
