At the entrance, a 1913 printing plate made in Germany is on display: it is an engraved copper plate that was used to print nautical charts of the Indian Ocean.
Painted on the floor is a 14th-century compass rose, featuring the Fleur-de-lis of Florence to indicate North.
On the wall opposite the entrance hang numerous crests belonging to various harbour masters' offices, while near the front door sits a sailing ship's compass made in Great Britain in the 19th century.
