Unofficial (PDF) Transcript

Transcripts are 'official' when the University sends them directly to your employer electronically, or in a sealed envelope on paper. If the electronic copy comes to you and you forward it or if you open the sealed envelope, the transcript becomes 'unofficial'.

To get the application rolling, most districts allow you to upload an unofficial transcript.

CSUN Transcripts

You can either:

Other Universities

Google "<Your University Name> official transcript". Request an official transcript online and have it sent to yourself. This may cost $5-10, so save your receipt.

Pro tip 1: If you do make the purchase, you might consider ordering one electronic copy that you can use to start the application and a second paper copy sent to you in the mail. You can hold onto that paper copy in its sealed envelope and then give it to the school district when they decide to hire you.

Pro tip 2: If you are ordering a paper copy, consider ordering two -- one for now and one to keep around for when you need it urgently for some other purpose later in life. Only do this if you think you can keep it in a place that you will find it again later (i.e., if you don't have a good filing system, don't waste your money buying it now).
