In July of 2021, the Board of Education accepted a donation from BCCF in the amount of $10,467 to support the following grants:
Kindergartners at Play - Kindergarten classes at Eagle Elementary will benefit from tools that build their fine motor skills.
Slingerlands Primary Wing Hallway Innovation Project - The hallway and common area will be transformed into a child-centered, functional setting that will allow children to view their work and practice foundational skills.
School-Wide Yoga-based and Mindful Movement - Students at Eagle Elementary will learn about self-regulation skills in terms of thoughts and feelings.
Gel Electrophoresis Hands-on Application for Regents Biology/ Forensics/ Excel Science 10 - Students at the High School will gain higher level of learning and understanding through hands-on experimentation.
Wood Lathe and Safety Equipment - The High School art classes will have access to a wood lathe.
Bal-A-Vis-X Program - Students at Hamagrael, Eagle, Slingerlands, and Glenmont will test out these multi-sensory exercises that involve balance, auditory, and visual systems.
Patroon 6 Sustainability and Environmental Community Initiatives - Students at the Middle School will be learning about composting and modeling skills to the community.
Leveled Readers for Guided Reading Groups - Kindergarteners at Hamagrael will have new developmentally appropriate texts to help foster reading success.
Paper Pastries Expansion - The RISE Special Education program at the High School will purchase new supplies to expand the crafting business and increase students' work skills.
Book Club for Young Readers - The 2nd and 3rd graders at Hamagrael Elementary will have exposure to new early chapter books, specifically young readers.
iPhone Tripods and iPod Touch - High school students will have access to tripods for filming.
Elsmere PRIDE Story Path - This story walk will be placed around the perimeter of the school property, encouraging both literacy activities and physical fitness.
Diverse Voices in Classroom Library - This Middle School classroom will benefit from a variety of diverse and inclusive texts.
