Jumpstart to Literacy

Jumpstart to Literacy

In October 2004, the Barrington School Foundation kicked off it's Jumpstart to Literacy program. It began as sending hardcover books to Barrington kiddos (birth to age 5) every other month. In 2005, it added the Pajama Party, where Barrington kids recieve a new book, enjoy hearing it read to them, and do follow up activities....all in their jammies! In 2010, the foundation joined forces with Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. The Jumpstart to Literacy initiative aims to actively engage families in reading to their children, setting them up for academic success and lifelong enjoyment of reading.
