The wasteland’s changed, darlin’. New words, new sights, pages updated and stories stirred. Thought you knew it? Look again.
In a world ruled by factions, Monikers are the last true rogues—wanderers who answer to no one but themselves. Unlike factions, they don’t share a banner; each Moniker carries their own name, their own sticker, and their own legend. They travel in small groups, if at all, surviving on reputation and skill alone.
Once common, Monikers are now a dying breed. The wasteland is harsher, factions grow stronger, and going solo is near impossible. But those who remain? They’re legends. Names spoken in whispers, their stickers still found on rusted walls and bullet casings. To take on a Moniker is to live and die by your own story. Factions fight for power—Monikers fight for legacy. And a legacy never dies.
When the bombs fell, MothBrawl (he/they) had just picked up the keys to their first apartment. The city they called home? Gone. Their lease? Meaningless.
Armed with spray cans, a rapier, and a pocketful of Moth Balls—custom-made of smoke/stink bombs—Moth Brawl is an artist and an agitator. They travel between towns and cities marking up buildings with their murals. Some bring hope, others call for rebellion.
MothBrawl rarely fights head-on—why waste time dueling a whole faction when you can vanish in a cloud of chaos? They strike fast, leave their mark, and disappear before the dust settles and their legend only grows with each escape.
When the world ended, language, like everything else, fractured. Communication became a battlefield, and those who couldn’t speak or hear found themselves stranded in the silence. Laserbabe was not only a poet before the fall, but was fluent in ASL, which she adapted into WLS (Wasteland Sign)—a universal signing system helpful for deaf or hard of hearing survivors across cultures and factions. She travels from town to town, spreading WLS like where ever people are willing to learn.
Laserbabe wields twin butterfly knives, striking as quick as the wind, and carries a laser pointer to disorient enemies, send signals, or just mess with the local wildlife.
