The wasteland’s changed, darlin’. New words, new sights, pages updated and stories stirred. Thought you knew it? Look again.
The Feathered Kingdom rose like a phoenix from the ashes, clad in sacred plumage. To them, the old world was a sin—a time when men bowed to soulless machines and let iron demons shape their fate. No more. The Feathered Vows turned their backs on such heresy, forging a kingdom built on purity, faith, and the divine order of the Skyborne Creed. They live by one law above all: The Feathered are sacred. The Clawed are damned. In their eyes, anything bearing the traits of a cat—sleekness, cunning, machinery, deceit—is a mark of corruption. To craft, wield, or even speak fondly of such things is to invite the devil’s whisper.
The old machines, the cursed relics of a world gone mad, are deemed "clawed things"—tricks of the fallen, cursed to forever lurk in the shadows of their holy kingdom. The kingdom is built upon a rigid, unyielding hierarchy, where each caste dons elaborate garb to reflect their divine role. Their clothing, armor, and customs mimic birds, for in the heavens, the purest creatures reside.
The Peacock Royals – At the heart of the kingdom stand the Peacock Royals, draped in iridescent silks, crowned with golden feathered helms. Their throne is a towering fan of shimmering metal and dyed quills, a symbol of divine favor. The King and Queen are chosen not by blood alone but by The Molt, a sacred trial in which contenders must shed their old selves through hardship and sacrifice, emerging reborn as rulers.
The Swan Nobility - The noble houses, clad in flowing white and gold, govern the land with serene authority. Their robes and furs elongate their silhouettes, mimicking the poised grace of swans. Their words are law, their judgments absolute.
The Knights of the Lily Pad – They ride upon destriers clad in feathered barding, their helmets shaped like the heads of geese and ducks, symbols of vigilance and tenacity. Their gathering place, the Lily Pad Table, is a floating stone dais upon the sacred Mirror Lake, where knights take oaths that, once sworn, can never be broken.
The Dove Clergy – The Dove Clergy wear flowing robes of white, their faces hidden behind smooth, expressionless masks. They are the kingdom’s spiritual leaders, tending to the faithful and burning heretics in great Skyborne Pyres.
The Owl Scholars – Wrapped in dark robes with great circular lenses adorning their faces, the Owl Scholars are the kingdom’s intellectual elite. They alone are allowed to study the texts of the old world, not to wield its knowledge, but to destroy its corruption.
The Raven Scouts – The Raven Scouts are the kingdom’s unseen hands, gathering intelligence on heretics and hunting those who flee its borders. They are the only ones allowed beyond the kingdom’s reach, their dark cloaks making them ghosts upon the wasteland.
The Pigeon Craftsmen – Dressed in humble grays and browns, the Pigeon Craftsmen are the backbone of the kingdom’s industry. They shape weapons, forge armor, and build grand temples to the Skyborne Creed—all with materials untouched by cursed machines.
The Chicken Farmers - Simple folk in bright, rustic garb, the Chicken Farmers tend to the sacred duty of feeding the kingdom. Their colorful tunics mimic the hues of barnyard fowl, and their Rooster Heralds carry news from village to village.
The Sparrow Laborers – Humble, tireless, and unshakable in faith, the Sparrow Laborers till the fields, haul stone, and keep the kingdom running.
The Eagle Merchants – Unlike other factions, the Eagle Merchants are permitted to interact with outsiders—but only to trade in goods deemed pure. They wear dark cloaks with golden embroidery, their masked visages resembling regal raptors.
The Songbird Performers – The Songbird Performers bring joy and reverence to the kingdom. Dressed in brilliant hues, their dances and melodies uplift the faithful.
