This lab accommodates 25 PCs, 5 workstations and 1 printer.
This lab accommodates 25 PCs, 5 workstations and 1 printer.
The 5 workstations run on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS server. These include network file server (NFS), a user authentication server (LDAP) and partially as a computational server. The users also has an option of delegating computations to an additional mathematics server. All the user files are mirrored in the server so that they have access to all their files irrespective of which terminal they log in. The PCs in the lab run desktop versions of Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, which mount the corresponding directories from the NFS. The full home directory of the system is mounted from NFS.
