Simple Introduction

He is cynical and negative with a sharp tongue and sometimes talks in a cold sarcastic manner.

On his own, he's more like a soulless husk of a person...(unless he's angry, that is.) That's because he is, in fact, lacking a soul. Not in the "cruel, evil" kind of way. He's just sharing his soul with a ghost, "Lu". Lu doesn't necessarily have to be part of Vincent's body to exist and Vincent prefers it that way. They're technically the same person since they share one soul but as long as Vince doesn't allow Lu to be part of him, he will portray a dull personality. And unfortunately, his body will very slowly decompose until he lets Lu back in. The reason they prefer to stay separate is that Vince tries to contact ghosts of people who he's going to play as in his school plays. In order to...make them possess him so he can play his role perfectly to impress his mother. He mostly tries to do this for the characters of "Overwrought" (another story of mine that takes place many many years ago in the same universe of Paperplanes) And has a special interest in Yifu & Dali'an's history. Detailed Information

He has unusual habits like taking long pauses while speaking, staring at people for longer than he should, appearing unusually calm and unfazed in extreme situations and...eating...paint... Sometimes he talks to himself too. Though in reality, he's talking to Lu's ghost, outsiders just don't get to see. He's the "neighbours kid" if I may be so bold. He often rambles about his status as "The beholder of Hēi'àn (darkness)" and his interest in the "dark arts". This is caused by his hyper fixation with the legends told to him by Fa Niu, his older sister. These legends tend to be related to Yifu or Dali'an in some way. He knows these legends are true because of his connection to ghosts yet he cannot prove it to anyone. He has a strong sense of self-proclaimed duty which is to protect the last remains of He'xia. As a result, he tends to throw a lot of tantrums when someone dismisses his theories. This usually is caused by his father or Seyhun. Seyhun is fully aware the events of "OverWrought" has taken place in real life, he just pretends he doesn't believe Vincent just to upset him. On the other hand, Vince's father has no idea and is just confused, he has no intention of upsetting his son.

He expresses favouritism towards his mother and will immediately obsess over anything she makes. Be it old stories she's written or new artworks. He's an art lover in general and he spends a lot of time watching Jacob make his animations. Jacob is grateful for Vincent's devotion though sometimes he finds him a little off-putting. Vince is an artist too but he's never satisfied with his drawings and doesn't let anyone but Edward, Niu and Emma see them. Despite Edwards suggestion to publicise his work, he claims that people online would only recognise him for being the "son of an irrelevant actor and therefore his work would not be recognised for what it truly is. And if he were to hide his identity Layla would expose him for a few extra clicks on her stupid blog."

He's a very picky eater. He considers salads a comfort food given that his mother wasn't able to prepare any dish for him other than a simple salad due to her being extremely bad at cooking. He will always insist on having a salad if possible even though he has many other, better foods at his disposal. This has become an inside joke among the group and Vince often teases Edward that he and Jacob are going to eat his plants while Edd is asleep...
