Hersila, who is considered a sacred spirit chooses the rulers after the current one passes away if they had none or multiple children.
She's is supposed to help them with tough ruling decisions, however, Empress Hai refuses to take advice from her and insists on doing things her way.

Hexian Script
A script Xian Xiyi developed in order to make it more simple for people to learn their language and to distance the folk by associating Hexia with the past dynasty it was replaced by. However, he didn't enforce it harshly therefore only people who wished to learn it knew it. The number of people who know this script is quite small during the story.
