A fellow burnt-out artist, yet he somehow manages to stay energised. He tries to stay overly optimistic around the children he has to spend most of his time with to keep their pure worldview intact as long as possible. He tends to be very pessimistic and grumpy after a long day of work but he shuts himself in to hide from the kids until he can get back to his usual self. Don't get this wrong, he's not faking it or anything...it's just that his work as a cop can ruin his mood quite fast. Just a few hours of animating can cheer him up.
Despite the carefree cheerful personality that he displays around children, adults seem to find him quite mysterious and untrustworthy for reasons unclear to Jacob.
He has a big interest in pieces of media that others may consider "irrelevant" like outdated games and anime. He tries to imitate the feeling those give to him in his own works and has a rather big fanbase full of people like him and he loves interacting with them...his biggest fans being Vincent, Layla and Eva.
His diet solely consists of coffee, instant noodles and plain bread due to how much time he spends on his art. He does not have time to prepare food despite his great talent in the culinary arts. Staying up late because he didn't have enough time to get his animations done in time during the daytime, coffee flows through his veins. He sometimes wishes he chose to be a pilot instead of an artist and a cop but his everlasting fear of heights keep him from reaching his dream.
I mentioned he spends a lot of time with children, these are mostly his fans. Besides those, he takes care of his brother Edward and his few friends. Whom he cares greatly about and does his best to keep them happy...The only child he doesn't seem to be able to cheer up is Vincent who always seems to be incredibly bored unless he's not watching Jacob draw. Jacob isn't very comfortable with being watched while he makes his "silly little toons" but he'll allow it if it'll give Vince something to be excited about. It's incredibly obvious that Vincent takes Jacob as a role model and Jacob is quite flattered by it.
He's not at all supportive of Edwards interest in true crime even though he's a policeman himself, possibly because he thinks it would scar Edward emotionally. Despite his disliking for the job he often works on most extreme cases like murder alongside Emma Victoria, just because he wants to work with her even if he's not of much help. Eventually, he ends up joining Emma in her efforts to uncover the mystery of Lu's death just to prove that it may have been Seyhuns fault. In the process, he discovers Emma's strange way of solving cases which is to contact the ghosts of the victims. Soon after he realises he has a massive fear of supernatural beings, until...he becomes one himself.
How he died is unclear given the fact that Edward is not aware that Jacob is deceased. Edward is confused as to why he sees Jacob as a ghost in his dream and refuses to acknowledge it.
Also...he has great knowledge of the history of bread...for...some reason...Don't ask me.
