Simple Introduction

Dalian is an extremely paranoid and fragile person who suffers from hazardously low self-esteem as a result of relentless abuse and has a warped understanding of both positive and negative social interaction. During the story, he will learn to be more confident in himself and will eventually accept that the world isn't as dangerous as he made it out to be.

Being the smart one in the group he's usually the voice of reason. While correcting others -something he feels obligated to do- he can come off as mean, however that would be the least of his intentions unless he's correcting Madea G. or Mae Bailey's words. He's intellectually gifted, yet he has problems in social behaviour since he never bothered to go out and talk to people. Despite this, he has a way with words, he's able to convince people easily. Due to the constant bullying he faced as a child, Dalian is highly suspicious of other people, frequently accusing them of thinking bad things about him. He occasionally says awkward, strange, and unsettling things without realizing it. He is very self-conscious about his words because of this, often struggling to state his thoughts freely. He’s prone to breaking down with little provocation, profusely apologizing and nervously stuttering while speaking.
