(MANHATTAN — October 20, 2025) — Socialist Assemblymember Zohran Mamdani holds a solid lead in a four-way matchup for mayor, but former Gov. Andrew Cuomo overtakes him in a direct two-candidate test after undecided voters are pushed, according to a new survey from GSP Polling.
The poll of 1,204 likely November voters finds Mamdani with 45% support, ahead of Cuomo at 31% and Republican nominee Curtis Sliwa at 19%, with 5% undecided.
But in a follow-up question asking the 5% undecided which way they lean, Cuomo narrowly tops Mamdani 51% to 49% in a hypothetical one-on-one.
The numbers highlight a split between Mamdani’s progressive base and broader November electability. While Mamdani outperforms in the initial field, the conversion of undecided voters — who tend to skew older, moderate, and less partisan — appears to benefit Cuomo in a runoff-style scenario.
GSP Polling notes that the findings “underscore the volatility of the race as voters weigh ideology against experience” with less than a month until Election Day.
