About our project

Art and science are two of the most important areas that support the development of social culture. In contrast to general belief art and science move together and make use of similar tools and methods. Throughout history, improvements in science have served art while artists have given inspiration to countless scientific discoveries. In our present day people require interdisciplinary skills in addition to their professional knowledge in order to be successful in their business life. An engineer needs to develop an artistic point of view besides his professional intellect whereas an artist needs to look for scientific information while creating his work of art. In this project our students are going to do researches on topics concerning the interaction of art and science by focusing on works of artists like Leonardo Da Vinci and M.C. Escher. With the help of their teachers in charge they are going to prepare presentations, videos and posters together with peers in the partner schools.

The objectives of the project are :

• to develop cultural interaction between European countries
• to improve English and ICT skills
• to establish the awareness of European Citizenship through researches on works of science and art which stand as a reflection of common European Culture
• to create awareness of the connection between science and art
