Meet the team at Subansiri, a dedicated group of caring volunteers committed to meeting the diverse needs of all dogs and cats on and around the hostel campus. From ensuring their health and well-being to providing regular meals, these volunteers play a crucial role in the community. Both dogs and cats exhibit mild, pampered natures, reflecting their well-behaved and trained upbringing.
The dogs here are not only friendly but also fiercely protective of the hostel and its female residents, reciprocating the love and care they receive. However, many dogs in the area harbor a deep trauma related to speeding vehicles, with some having undergone leg implants due to accidents. Tragically, there have been numerous cases of hit-and-run incidents resulting in permanent injuries, trauma, and even fatalities among the dogs. The volunteers passionately advocate for reduced speeding in the vicinity, as these dogs only chase after fast-moving vehicles.
On the other hand, cats are often found seeking refuge inside the hostel building, considering it a safe haven away from the dogs. Occasionally, new cats join the established feline family, further enriching the harmonious environment of Subansiri.
