The campus monkeys at IIT Guwahati pose unique challenges as they often enter hostels and are difficult to manage compared to other campus animals like dogs or cats. Unlike dogs and cats, which enjoy pampering and dedicated care from the community, monkeys do not receive the same privileges. Their presence can sometimes disrupt daily activities and pose safety concerns for students and staff. Efforts to manage their behavior and mitigate their impact on campus life are ongoing, with measures taken to discourage their entry into sensitive areas. Despite these challenges, the campus community remains committed to finding peaceful coexistence with these wild animals while ensuring the safety and well-being of everyone on campus.
