This is one of my favorite stories because this story taught me fast news gathering skills. I had a limited amount of time left until my story was supposed to air. I also had to film my interview alongside my classmate, Thomas Roper. I also shot my b-roll at the luncheon while representing Tupelo High School. AEE wanted to see how their grant contribution has helped students grow as young journalists. Ultimately, I recieved an award for Best of Show News Story at the Mississippi Scholastic Press Association for this story.
My first story was the Festival of Nations. This story was special to me because it taught me how journalism plays an important role of learning about the world around us. I produced this story two weeks after joining WTHS. Even though this story was only published on social media, I was very proud of the work I created as a new student journalist.
This is one of the current stories I have produced at December of 2023. It features the CTE Teacher of the Year for Tupelo High School. This story was a learning expereince because I had to used limited footage and transform the clips into a full story.
