Editing is one of my favorite parts of a project. I had no prior knowledge about editing before I joined WTHS. I first was taught how to edit by using LEGO blocks to simulate building blocks in a editing software. Since that activity, I fell in love with editing. Whether its a package, intro, or promo, I love putting pieces together to make one cohesive story. Every project I edit, I always gain new knowledge on how I can improve my editing skills.
I was given the task to create the first intro for WTHS 2023-2024 school year. Making intro's is my favorite part of the work I do as a student journalist. The process of choosing musics, laying down clips, and editing video is something I appreciate doing every time.
One of my favertie skills I have learned is how to build graphics. From lower thirds to transitions, having graphics allows our publication add a spedial touch to our work. My favorite tool is Canva, where the possibilities are endless. I am able to make my creative ideas come to life. Take a look!
This promo is one of my favorite editing projects I have done. I was excited because this is my first promo I have ever done. I got to play with different fonts and editing tools with this video. I got found upbeat music to set the mood of the message I wanted to send to the viewers. I gained so much more knowledge about my editing software that can help improve all of my editing content.
I collaborated with Morgan Brown and Cayla Lockeridge to create this special for 9/11. I edited the interviews, gathered footage, and found music to create this presentation. It was very important for me to set the tone for the contents of this special. I had to find and credit many pieces of footage from 9/11. I also learned how to work with a green screen to make a consistant background. This special presentation was presented as a finalist for Best Creative Video for MSPA.
Based on the events going on at Tupelo, I updated clips to showcase the diverse group of people we have in our community.
