How I made this classic 1950's Austin clutch clock from a scrap car part.
The cover was very rusty, but already in pieces.
So had it media blaster clean of all rust.
Found a nice copper spray
as I was going for a more vintage look
Time to get all pieces ready.
Push clock mechanism in from the back. Only tighten enough so clock is not loose.
Assemble the hour hand first, then minute, then second. Line them all up at the 12 o'clock position.
Once fitted, trial test by turning the wheel at the back of the clock mechanism, going through a 12 hour cycle to ensure hands do not touch each other
Never adjust the time moving the hands as this could affect the gearing inside.
There you have it, you own unique clock.
