MIDI Controller Keyboards

These type of keyboards do not make sounds; they allow the user control over software instruments via USB or other sound modules using MIDI.

At the Sandbox we use the Arturia Keylab 88 and M-Audio AXIOM 25 , AXIOM-AIR 25, and Axiom Mini32 keyboards.

As well as providing a 25-88 note keyboard, they also give the user access to transport controls in their recording software (record, play, pause, etc.), drum pads, and control knobs and faders which can be assigned to different parameters (e.g, filter sweep, delay time, volume, etc.).
