IC Character Style
Although the Unimata does not have a uniform, it still has a distinct style. Characters should be seen with less-than-pristine clothing and dirtied gear. The Unimata reside in the mudlands, keep that in mind when designing your chracter. Many adorn water-resistant clothing and gear, similar to fishermen and ship crews as to avoid rusting of limbs or conditions such as trench foot.
Droids found within the Unimata often have some form of rust, exterior/interior damage (can range from simple weathering to missing limbs), and are often somewhat dirty from their lack of needing to bathe. Most simply let any grime buildup wash away in the rain. However, droids that wish to be clean can rinse themselves or scrub off grime using a brush or towel; though, most only clean important parts (such as joints, hydraulics, optics, sensors, etc.)
As for humans and mutants, they follow a similar aesthetic. They are often somewhat dirty in terms of skin, clothing, and gear. Any prosthetics that humans and mutants have are often somewhat rusty and dirty, though rugged and reliable (unless the user wants the prosthetic to be not as reliable). Humans and mutants are oftentimes more clean looking than the droids of the Unimata due to their need to maintain good hygiene.. though some outliers exist, of course.
As for a general appearance, many either adorn the look of underfunded militia fighters or simple, poor Wastelanders. Most gear, such as rigging, pouches, holsters, etc. are often hand-me-downs from higher ranking members, with many stitched-together parts, tape, and other forms of grime. Members of the Unimata also must display the Unimata logo clearly when on-duty, and should be displaying the Unimata's colors (Reds, Greys, Blacks, Browns) in some way through clothing, tape, armbands, paint, or other such identifiers.
Character Gear
Unimata members are oftentimes underfunded and given basic weaponry and hand-me-down/patched together gear. This is especially true for lower ranks, who rarely get to hold an advanced or pristine piece of weaponry, or wear a piece of gear with similar quality. Even high-ranking members often have tattered and outdated gear, though it is more common to see them with better gear than lower ranks, as expected. Robust equipment is rugged and reliable, not pristine and perfect.
Characters should be using old, tattered, and dirty gear and basic weaponry. Most weapons should also have wooden furniture due to the abundance of wood around The Mudlands, and how simple it is to manufacture wooden furniture. Though, plastic and polymer furniture is not uncommon in the hands of Unimata members. Be sure to check the Equipment guide for what your character can and cannot use.
OOC Character Guidelines
Droids and Humans/Mutants
*Disclaimer: THESE GUIDELINES ALSO APPLY TO FULLBODY DROIDS. YOU CAN APPLY TO THE FACTION WITH A FULLBODY DROID, BUT THEY ARE HELD TO A HIGH STANDARD. FULLBODIES ARE INDIVIDUALLY DECIDED ON THROUGH INTERNAL VOTE AND OFTEN TAKE A WHILE TO BE APPROVED OR DENIED. APPLYING WITH AN R15 CHARACTER IS QUICKER. GUIDELINES & THE CHARACTER STYLE WILL BE ENFORCED.
-MUST have the Unimata logo displayed in a clear location, such as on the front of the chest or on an armband.
-Characters MUST have the majority of their colors be the Unimata colors (MAIN colors). Characters can have colors that don't match the palette (blue, yellow, orange, etc.), though should be kept as SECONDARY colors.
-Droids MUST have some form of wear and tear on their chassis; prosthetics MUST have some form of wear and tear. Minimal rust and grime should be a common theme.
-Avoid fancy or clean clothes; no dresses, skirts, tuxedos, suits, etc. If an event requires formality, wear formal outfits that are still somewhat dirty and tattered.
-Avoid color saturation; colors should be desaturated and earthy to match the environment they live in. Refer to the palette.
-Neons are only allowed for LIGHTS, OPTICS AND SCREENS.
-Fullbody droids must remain humanoid and cannot stray far from a humanoid figure. They must follow the same theme with grime and rust; but cannot be entirely one material (such as being entirely 'corroded metal').
-Fullbody droids should match the style of the game, with smoother edges and detail instead of sharp edges and minimal detail, (Such as making a droid entirely out of 'the cube' with only a scarf or a rig with pouches).
-Characters may use custom textures if the creator wants, though they must fall within the guidelines.
-Avoid clothing that does not make sense; things such as tank-tops, flip-flops, sandals, etc.
Clothing that is water-resistant and warm should be a common theme, such as; jumpsuits, bomber coats, overalls, rubber/leather boots, work gloves, etc. This can vary wildly between characters, though try to stick to a dirty worker-like theme.
-Gear must be visibly tattered and worn; you can do this by adding tape on something like a rig, stitches to pouches/rigs, patches from different clothing or items, etc. Any tape added should be Unimata colors (Shown on 'MAIN' colors) and/or role colors.
-Although children exist within the Unimata, very rarely can they be roleplayed. Human/mutant characters cannot be below the physical and mental age of 16. Droids cannot be below the mental age of 16.
*Those still considered children (below 18) are reserved for non-combative tasks due to lack of experience or maturity, alongside moral reasons. Characters that are under 16 (physically and mentally) must have approval from an HR+. Characters that are 16 and below cannot leave the Mudlands.
-No overscaling or underscaling;
*Minimum character height is 5'0", Maximum character height is 6'3". Adjust weight accordingly.
Characters who have been shorter than 5'0" or taller than 6'3" (without being an approved Battle Droid) can request to keep their height by DMing an HR+.
-No overweight or underweight characters;
*Minimum character weight is 115lbs, Maximum character weight is 200lbs. Adjust weight accordingly.
Characters who weigh less than 115lbs or weigh more than 200lbs (without being an approved Battle Droid) can request to keep their weight by DMing an HR+.
