RANKS
[1XR] WAYLANDER
This role is almost exclusively reserved for Prisoners of War, or deserters and fugitives of other factions. No matter where they come from, the Unimata has opted to welcome any deserter of any faction with open arms, offering shelter, food, and the possibility to even become an Ancillary. The same offer is presented to POW's, however the conditions are often much harsher then that of the deserters.
[LR] ANCILLARY
Ancillaries are the lowest ranking members in the group, making up the majority of the faction. Ancillaries are typically newer or more inexperienced in regards to the Unimata's goals or ideals, yet expressed enough interest and agreement with them to fully commit to joining. Unlike some other select groups, Ancillaries are treated as important to the structure of the faction. They are cared for well enough and have good (if small) living conditions.
[1LR] ADJUNCT
One step up from an Ancillary is an Adjunct. These members are Ancillaries who have gone the extra mile to prove themselves as individuals that stand out from the crowd. Typically they are more experienced or well known Ancillaries and gain a little more respect from their peers. New Ancillaries may even be rapidly promoted to Adjunct if they are effectively able to prove themselves. They are open to few luxuries that a common Ancillary wouldn't get, however they are typically just cosmetic. These include better plating for their prosthetics and upgraded systems. Despite the connotations, Adjuncts are still categorized as a low ranking members within the Unimata as a whole and thus are given restricted authority.
[SR] ARDENT
Adjuncts and Ancillaries that stand out from the crowd and prove their capabilities on the field may have the ability to become an Ardent. Unimata members that take the leap at becoming an Ardent will be given a larger share of responsibility. Ardent will be given authority over a small number of members, usually substituting in for Auguries. Ardent are vital to the structure of the Unimata, as in the circumstance that no leadership is available, they have to step up to the challenge to fill the gap. They are given better gear than Ancillaries and Adjuncts, however due to them being the largest leadership group their equipment isn’t anything fancy. Ardent that show apt responsibility and discipline have the chance to be promoted to the prestigious rank of Augury.
[MR] AUGURY
Possessing properly upgraded gear and moderate authority, the Augury rank is given to those who have proven their worth, loyalty, and ability to lead their fellow members in various operations. They are given the task of maintaining the connection between the Ancillaries and the higher-ups, as well as official recruitment, arrangement of certain smaller affairs, and many other small jobs that may fall under their certain expertise. Achieving this rank is a clear sign that you have greatly benefitted the Unimata, and that you deserve a place in its history.
[HR] COMMISSAR
Commissars are members who have shown even further dedication to the faction and incredible promise of leadership. At this point, the member is greatly trusted with many of the Unimata’s essential affairs. Commissars may be seen donning sophisticated and sometimes esoteric equipment, and occasionally traveling with bodyguards. Commissars are given much more leverage in terms of the group’s direction, and directly contribute to larger decisions and happenings. (It is not unheard of for even Ancillaries to contribute to major decisions, but Commissars tend to be entrusted with more of the minor and yet essential mechanizations of the organization.)
[CR] CONVOCATIONER
Convactioners are the most trusted members in the entirety of the Unimata. Each individual Convocationer commands every rank below themselves, and thus, they must be trustworthy, dependable, and very abled at leadership. Although not seen commonly in dangerous situations, Convocationers are deeply entwined with the great conglomeration of force that is the Unimata, and must make each decision with great care and consideration. In the case of the Sovereign and Sovereignee being unavailable or incapacitated, they are to assume temporary leadership.
[CR+] SOVEREIGNEE
The right hand to the Sovereign. This individual is the Sovereign's most loyal and trusted fellow out of everyone from the Unimata. They serve to stand in as leader should the Sovereign not be available at times. They are responsible for making sure the Sovereign’s orders are heard and that the Sovereign’s jobs get done. They are the second in command of the Unimata.
[L] THE SOVEREIGN
The Sovereign, the de facto leader of the faction, controls all ranks and decisions within the faction. The Sovereign has proven themself as a righteous leader, and it does not seem that they will be usurped anytime soon.
ROLE/SUBROLE INFO
1. You do NOT need to use a subrole, you can use the basic roles if you want. (Sprocker, Kargu, Mender, etc.)
2. You can be any role you want as long as it makes sense and is within your rank.
Ex: A human can be a Kargu, a droid can be a Physician, a mutant can be a Logistician.
[LR] Sprocker
Sprockers, named after the pivot point of most early mechanisms, make up a large amount of members within the Unimata. Sprockers don’t specialize in anything but are decently abled in many fields. These ranging from general maintenance, farming, combat, or whatever else may be required of them. Every member within the Unimata is first a Sprocker. Sprockers can opt to specialize in a certain field once in the Unimata, receiving training to become eventual experts at their respective crafts.
[LR] Kargu
Kargus are named after the first drone to carry out an attack on its own initiative. The role of Kargu is the basic combative division of the Unimata. Although not at all militaristically trained, and barely matching a skillset worthy of pre-flash policemen, this specialization will send a Unimatan well on the way to becoming a formidable combatant.
[LR] Picketer
Commonly referred to as the scouts of the Unimata. With lighter gear and armor, they are the faster bunch of the faction. Picketers are normally the first to assess situations and report them back to higher ups. Their work often has them group up into bands of 3 to 5 with the goal of finding beneficial intelligence, be they scavenging spots or potential oncoming threats. It's not uncommon to see Picketers working alongside Requitals in order to keep them safe. Without Picketers, the faction would be blind to what goes on outside the camp.
[LR] Leaden
Leadens are the bulk and brawn of Unimata's population, working as heavy lifters for building projects as well as the bulwarks of combat. While Leadens are defined by having plenty of raw strength, those who plan to take on active conflict are often trained to be strategic in their approach. Leadens that live more passively often stay around camp building or helping with heavy lifting work that others can not do themselves.
[LR] Convex
The training of Convexes is lengthy due to their role in the faction. Convexes are the backliners of the Unimata, providing supporting fire from long range. They are equipped with weapons like sniper rifles and other marksman tools. Convexes are often geared somewhat well, normally having their marksman tool of choice alongside a sidearm and sometimes a small melee. Should they ever find themselves using their melee or sidearm, they have failed to stay alert.
[LR] Mender
Menders are the medical division of the faction. These droids and organics specialize in the art of medicine, learning how to navigate the complex wiring and mechanics of a droid's body or the fragile organs and parts of organics in order to repair, preserve, or upgrade them. Although they don't have a professional level of training, it’s enough for most to provide adequate repairs and healing to most droids and organics. Additionally, the Unimata's droid filled populous gives them a considerable leg up when it comes to mechanical knowledge. (While not mandatory, those in this role are encouraged to use lighter weaponry like rifles, SMG's, etc)
[LR] Surgeon
A group of menders who are skilled in intricate surgeries and lengthy operations. Surgeons excel at especially tough procedures and benefit the most from having a prepared workspace. A surgeon's work is most often done in a hospital, helping the injured as they're brought in. They tend to deal with patients suffering from grievous harm and often oversee their recovery.
[LR] Preservers
This group of menders dedicate themselves to the dangers of combat with the intent to provide medical or mechanical aid to those in battle. They are not restricted to active deployment and can operate like regular menders, but they are specially trained to perform aid in combat situations. A good preserver can stay focused in volatile situations and provide effective first aid to their allies.
[LR] Physician
These menders specialize in healing organics. While it isn't unusual for ordinary menders to have medical knowledge; those specifically committed to the field tend to take up a position as a physician. This distinguishes them from regular menders, who are more often committed to the mechanical side of things, and gives them access to more in-depth medical resources.
[LR] Requital
The logical minds of the Unimata, responsible for navigation and practical thinking. They know their way around Sunrise and utilize that fact to the Unimata's advantage. Having a Requital present is always a benefit, practically guaranteeing safe travel thanks to their navigational prowess. It is also common for them them to use this knowledge to engage in trade or hunt for food.
[LR] Prospector
The mappers of the faction. They are left in charge of recording what lies on the isles and where to find it. Prospectors should be aware of potential threats, be they an environment with bad terrain, potential bandit territory, or an eldritch infestation. Veteran prospectors leave no stone unturned and have excel at cartography.
[LR] Logistician
The numbers people as well as the machinists of the faction. Logisticians are the people whose job it is to keep track of who's who and what's what. Droids who hold positions as logisticians tend to have a very high memory capacity. They are also in charge of keeping vehicles in tune and operational for Unimata traversal outside of that on foot.
[LR] Curio
The people who make up the Unimata's research team. Curios analyze the unknown in order to reach a scientific consensus. They might explore the logistics of prosthetic construction, consider weather patterns to try to anticipate radstorms, work on the production of pharmaceuticals, construct intricate weaponry, learn the biology of eldritch, or other such scientific subjects. It is thanks to Curios that the Unimata has an understanding of the mudlands' flora and fauna.
[LR] Biotechnician
Those who focus primarily on information relating to illness, radiation, stasis, and eldritch take up jobs as Biotechnicians. They keep an eye on the biomass and eldritch of north island, sometimes going on excursions to study unusual eldritch activity or radioactive areas. It is common for organic biotechnicians to carry around gas masks to stay safe while they work. When biohazards are involved, biotechnicians are the ones who ensure they are handled safely.
[LR] Splicer
Splicers are a mainly technological division of researchers and work on things like complex weapons or software. You can sometimes see Splicers on the battlefield, where they may at times provide tactical assistance by hijacking nearby tech and electrical tools to their allies' advantage. (Hacking/controlling other droids is NOT possible, hacking is limited to shutting doors at the minimum and short circuiting tech at the maximum. Hacking is generally done through physical interfacing.)
