DUAL-ROLES
The Architects have a dual-role system that is intended to balance characters, preventing players from being cripplingly overspecialized, a master in too many fields, and/or min-maxed, while also giving players the opportunity to
contribute to a variety of roleplay scenarios in different ways.
ATHLETICISM
Architect training is one hundred percent infallible against the various threats the wasteland may throw at Fellowcraft.
To survive the outside world, every craftsman undergoes a rigorous athletic school to suit one of three roles:
RANGER ARCHETYPE
Watchmen can lock down entire areas of a battlefield with nothing more than a scope attached to a rifle. They excel at picking off straggling foes and shutting down any flanking maneuvers the enemy might attempt, giving their fellow craftsmen much needed solace to do what they do best.
Balancing risk versus reward is the core of every watchman. Sniping from an isolated rooftop will certainly offer its fair share of opportunities, but stay too long in one spot and you will be surrounded by the enemy. Of course, sniping from the frontline is difficult when all of the heads are behind cover, but there is zero chance that tag team of flankers could stop you.
EXPLOSIVE ARCHETYPE
Vanguards are the Architects' premier shocktroopers, outfitted for lightning fast attacks and quick getaways. Using perception-enhancing gadgets such as OWL Thermal Binoculars, they exploit gaps in the frontline to wreak havoc on the backline with fast-firing weapons and explosives.
Despite the aggressive nature of their role, Vanguards are not kamikaze fighters, and greatly emphasize two steps: hit and run. Greed overcommits to hit and hesitation will fumble your run, both of which gives your enemy a window of opportunity to strike your character down for good.
HEAVY WEAPONS ARCHETYPE
Paladins use big guns and heavy armor to anchor a frontline for the enemy to focus their fire on. In diplomatic affairs, they are often the show ponies used to flex the Architects' invincible public image. In the battlefield, they too are intended to grab the center of attention.
Powerful as they are, immovability is a Paladin's double-edged sword and their frontline will collapse without the support of Watchmen or Vanguards. Make sure every second is spent shooting at the enemy, giving them no chance to look over their shoulder for scope glints or the advent of a shocktrooper.
EXPERTISE
While flying debris and bullet showers can be bested by the athletic feats, the Architects' academies ensure that every craftsman has the problem-solving skills to conquer any challenge that stands in the way of the Pioneer Project.
CHARISMATIC ARCHETYPE
Harbingers have a natural talent for communication and excel in the limelight. It's no wonder that a number of them are part of the Architects' leadership. They are often the most varied bunch, as communication skills apply to just about every background.
Outside of the Architects, Harbingers can be equal parts diplomatic as they are mischievous. The ability to talk your way into an advantage can be used to negotiate a trade deal, defuse a tense standoff, or extract secrets from drunkards.
BIOMEDICAL ARCHETYPE
Exclusively proficient in the ever-evolving field of biomedicine, Servitors are the Architects' innate survivalists, great at interfacing with prosthetics, medical foam, or anything that has to do with the extensive modification of organic material, like eldritch mutants.
When Servitors are not trying to keep other Fellowcraft from dying, they often work on medical or biological, or genetic research. Working hand in hand with other departments to perfect serums, record psychological evaluations, or whatever mad scientists do in their spare time.
GADGET ARCHETYPE
Artificers are masters of manipulating mechanical machines, typically working with any kind of conventional technology from lumbering terraformers to your friend's smartwatch, or your literal friend, if your friend happens to be a robot.
Engineers, programmers, technicians, and forklift drivers; Artificers are the centerpiece of any logistics or tech-related venture, acting as the engine of Architects' ongoing campaign to achieve the level of technological supremacy they once held before the Flash.
