After the disastrous pilgrimage of the Pioneer Project, Atlas J. Kirkwall has acted as the interim Grand Elect for all Architect operations on the Sunrise Islands. Various rumors tell tales of how Kirkwall attained such a high title in the few short years the Pioneer Project had even been up, but no one has yet to question his authority. After all, things have been going pretty well for the Architects. Thus far.

Elijah Clemets had served as a prominent figure within The Order of the Holy Artificer, and was a key figure in the destruction of Akron. In 2154 the order would effectively dissolve, but refusing to give up Elijah continued leading a remnant cell. The cell would later be smashed with most of its members being killed, and Elijah presumed to die along with them. It would be a great surprise when the Architects encountered this phantom deep beneath the North Island Mines.

The Architects want to recover Marsh to find out what he knows.

Zed was the enigmatic governor of Bargetown, his power stemming from the ongoing "state of emergency" Bargetown has been holding in the last two years. He and his guard were killed by militants during a crisis that led to the splintering of the Coalition and the formation of the Midwest Union. The Architects have used Zed's death as a point of speculation given recent developments in the Northeast Union.

Zed has been killed in action.
