GROUPS OF INTEREST
The Sunrise Islands is enveloped in a web of competing factions vying for the top spot.
Colloquially referred to as "established powers", Category 1 Groups of Interest hold an immense reserve of manpower and quantity of equipment, acting as the largest obstacles preventing the Architects from achieving dominance over
the Sunrise Islands. Alliances between Category 1 Groups are unideal, and escalating confrontation spells doom.
⏵ UNITED STATES RECLAMATION FORCE
PERCEIVE THE ARCHITECTS AS: FRIENDLY
Despite its namesake, the United States Reclamation Force (USRF) serves only the Northeastern Union (NEU) as its largest military arm. Research indicates that the size and scope of their operations will only increase until they have secured firm control over the Sunrise Islands. The influx of Northeastern immigrants projects that approximately 52.7% of consumer goods will be sold to customers from the NEU by the end of 2165.

⏵ THE COALITION
PERCEIVE THE ARCHITECTS AS: NEUTRAL
The Great Lakes Coalition has recently suffered from a crisis that has divided much of its critical population centers to an insurrectionist movement known as the Midwest Union. Experts believe that the significance of Bargetown will grow as the crisis continues. Despite recent setbacks, Bargetown continues to flourish as the Sunrise Islands' center of commerce while its Gold Leaf Army (GLA) stands firm against external threats.

⏵ ALUMNI
PERCEIVE THE ARCHITECTS AS: FRIENDLY
After San Francisco had been reduced to ash, the Erie Institute of Technology (EIT) was chosen to be one of the centers for weapons research and development. Attempts to contact EIT were cut short as civil conflict in Columbus escalated into anarchy. As their descendants, the Alumni pursue pre-Flash technology with disregard for property rights. As such, it is important to secure unclaimed artifacts before they do.

⏵ SOUTHPOINT STATE
PERCEIVE THE ARCHITECTS AS: FRIENDLY
Southpoint State (SPS) is concluded to be one of the last known vestiges of mutant homogeneity in the Great Lakes region. Previously, Abrahamic biologists worked to devise a solution to the danger eldritch mutants pose to long-term stability. With the presence of Southpoint State, these recently continued efforts are reported to expedite research tenfold. The Architects have swung into the good graces of Southpoint even in the wake of their war against "Anti-mutant Governments."

⏵ VOYAGEURS
PERCEIVE THE ARCHITECTS AS: COLD
The Voyageurs' hyperaggressive nature is an asset to the Architects and ensures that Category 1 Groups will continue to wrestle and weaken each other for dominance over the Sunrise Islands. Their ideological nature as anarchists is unsustainable, but harnessable. Rumors suggest that their expanding monopoly over the criminal underworld is used to fuel their arms race against the USRF and the GLA.

⏵ NEW MODEL ARMY
PERCEIVE THE ARCHITECTS AS: FRIENDLY
The New Model Army is the armed forces of the Midwestern Union that has come to the isles to besiege Bargetown and occupy to an advantage over the Great Lakes Coalition. The MWU's system of governance much resembles the pre-Flash United States, as well the government's hearts and minds approach to other factions may give us some clemency if the Pioneer Project fails. Efforts are currently being made to establish relations with them to get in their good graces.
Click here for an in-depth summary of all NMA-Architect interactions.
Category 2 Groups of Interest are moderately sized organizations with variable ideologies. Compared to Category 1 GoIs, the Architects do not consider these factions as critical threats to their end objective and are thus
more open to direct communication and collaborative efforts.
⏵ THE UNIMATA
PERCEIVE THE ARCHITECTS AS: UNKNOWN
A collective of automata that focus on self-preservation and the advocacy of granting droids civil liberties and basic rights. Their mission statement naturally attracts many droids, including those installed with combat and military subsystems. The Unimata's modest goals are unlikely to clash against the endgame objectives of Neo-Abrahamism.
⏵ ALMA'S WAY
PERCEIVE THE ARCHITECTS AS: WARM
A technocratic cult created by a rogue Advanced Learning Machine Algorithm (ALMA) unit. The cult intends to evolve its deity into an artificial superintelligence by hijacking the critical systems buried deep beneath the Sunrise Islands. While Artificers are working on firewalls to prevent the ALMA unit from controlling contemporary technologies, it is uncertain how long pre-Flash protection can hold against evolving AI.
⏵SHILOH POSSE
PERCEIVE THE ARCHITECTS AS: UNKNOWN
A band of outcasts from the Southern Union. Their wariness and paranoia can be largely attributed to the interests of the two military powers that dominate the East Coast. If anything, Shiloh Posse can be perceived as one of the larger firms competing in the market for mercenaries and hired guns, although it is unclear what loyalties they harbor over the highest bidder.
⏵CHROME SKULLS
PERCEIVE THE ARCHITECTS AS: HOSTILE
A major pull factor for criminal activity and a major push factor for law-abiding consumers. Most notable is their export of crudely designed prosthetics and composite skin substitutes. The Chrome Skulls are projected to be the most popular counterculture of the Great Lakes by the end of the decade.
⏵MANY MEN
PERCEIVE THE ARCHITECTS AS: COLD
A stinking pile of hot socialist garbage amalgamated by the lower class of worthless drunks and illiterate pickpockets. There is little concrete information on the "Many Men." There are many theories about the origins of this group, whether they came from the Rust Belt, the fracturing of Canada, or if they were founded on the islands themselves. Whatever the case may be, stealing is stealing.
While smaller and much more limited in capacity, the Architects value the amassed power of networking when creating partnerships and commercial deals with these factions. Foreign outcasts, mercenary outfits, quasi-religious cultist and everything in between, it is a long-term goal to gather the collective support of these scattered, but useful groups.
⏵THE ASHFALLEN
PERCEIVE THE ARCHITECTS AS: HOSTILE ⚔
A survivalist cult that have plagued the northern isles since their inception. Their belief system centers around a coming apocalypse known as the "Ashfallen" and thus have used it to justify attacks on other factions and unaflliated settlements. All so they can amass an immense stockpile of supplies to survive the Ashfall and remake the "New World" in their image, like any other doomsday cult.
⏵ISTVAN'S OUTFIT
PERCEIVE THE ARCHITECTS AS: DEFUNCT
A mercenary firm with a rotund mascot, Istvan's Outfit is reputable for its high completion rates and aptly charges a competitive price for their services. Their strict adherence to a mercenary code and dedication to a contract is a notable asset. Off the clock, Istvan and his mercenaries can be found at a private marina somewhere along the North Island's coast.
It's belived that the mercenary band is now defunct following the power struggle that came after the death of it's leader. With most of its members parting ways, blending back into wider wasteland. Would've been neat to meet the group in their prime.
⏵THE PALMETTOS
PERCEIVE THE ARCHITECTS AS: UNKNOWN
Comprised predominantly of individuals originating from South Union, including immigrants, draft dodgers, and military deserters. The Palmettos established permanent residency within Port Town shortly after arriving on the Sunrise Islands, a settlement now characterized by robust activity situated along the northern coastline.
⏵RED COIN
PERCEIVE THE ARCHITECTS AS: WARM
A drug smuggling ring once known as La Moneda Roja, Red Coin fled from the Southern Union and now operate much more freely in the isles- while also attempting to gain further independence from the larger cartel they previously acted under. The Architects are likely to utilize their services to produce pharmaceuticals of their own, recreational or otherwise.
⏵THE SUNRISE ELEMENT
PERCEIVE THE ARCHITECTS AS: FRIENDLY
As a mercenary outfit, the Architects have established a corporate security deal with the Sunrise Element and are eager to test the strength of their resolve. Money is a hereditary language inherited from the Abrahamic Society of America, and it eases the mind to know that there are other like-minded groups out there who are willing to work for the highest bidder, i.e. the Architects.
⏵THE UNDYING HAND
PERCEIVE THE ARCHITECTS AS: DEFUNCT
The ideological nature of the Undying Hand is likely to place the Architects directly in conflict with them. Although many factions may be close-minded about their relations with the Undying Hand, it may be possible to enter some sort of agreement with the organization, so long as Architect ambassadors do not express or show any signs of clashing with the Undying Hand's primitivist dogma.
While we had suceeded in forming a patnership with them, they ideology's downsides eventually caught up to them. Their one and only settlement being wiped out thanks to Cholera, with only a few to tell the tale.
More "identity group" than any particular organization, this category encompasses common types of people (or non-humanoid entities) that the Architects regularly encounter on the Sunrise Isles. It is important to acknowledge
that any individual can belong to one or more Category 4 GoIs.
⏵ WASTELANDERS
PERCEIVE THE ARCHITECTS AS: NEUTRAL
Referred to as "cowans" or "gentiles" by isolationist Architects, wastelanders are unpredictable, but their resolve against the natural hazards and hostile groups roaming the surface cannot be underestimated. Data collection shows that wastelanders make up two-thirds of weapons and armor sales which correlates nicely with their high-risk, high-reward, and high-mortality lifestyle.
⏵ MUTANTS
PERCEIVE THE ARCHITECTS AS: NEUTRAL
The scientific origins of mutant-kind have been under investigation since their first recorded appearances in the Radstorm Era, continuing to this day. During the Abrahamic Schism, Abrahamite tribes would curry the favor of mutant settlements to gain an edge over their more narrow-minded adversaries or sabotage mutant warbands in an effort to cut off their competitors. In rare cases, existing mutant tribes have aligned themselves as Architects, adopting Neo-Abrahamic thinking.
⏵ DROIDS
PERCEIVE THE ARCHITECTS AS: NEUTRAL
Before the Flash, automata were seen as the primary source of labor for menial, low-skill occupations such as logistics, transportation, and leisure services. While traditionalist Architects retain this sentiment, others have insisted on treating droids as equal sentients. The existential implications of human-like ultrarealistic androids are often a point of intellectual conversations, but most Architects would rather refrain from confronting this problem until they have the resources to solve it.
⏵ NORTHEASTERNERS
PERCEIVE THE ARCHITECTS AS: NEUTRAL
Northeastern citizens are often wealthier, but more passive than their wastelander counterparts, making them the perfect consumer audience for luxury products and recreational goods. Currently, there are no ongoing arrangements between the Architects and the Northeastern Union, meaning that they receive no special treatment.
⏵ BARGETOWNERS
PERCEIVE THE ARCHITECTS AS: WARM
An umbrella term encapsulating any civilians strongly associated with or directly under the residential jurisdiction of the Coalition, most Bargetowners are a mix of entrepreneurs, con-men, socialites, and everything in the middle. When in contact with the Architects, they are typically in the market for capital goods such as crafting materials and assembly equipment, but are equally as interested in the arms trade as much as the next wastelander.
⏵ BLACK MOUNTAIN
PERCEIVE THE ARCHITECTS AS: UNKNOWN
Most folks often forget that the people of Black Mountain and the USRF are two separate entities. In the opening months of Operation Wintertide, Northeastern diplomats negotiated a deal that dictates the USRF are to act as a security force while inhabiting the facility, while the people of Black Mountain retain ownership of the complex. As such, it is important to maintain friendly relations with Black Mountaineers.
⏵ MERCENARIES
PERCEIVE THE ARCHITECTS AS: WARM
A group of armed, capable guns-for-hire willing to do any jobs for a quick buck with no sense of post-conventional morality are just up the alley of the Architects. Although their discretion can be played into question, no one in their right mind would trust small-time hired muscle with a clandestine operation, but they would trust them on over-the-counter missions.
⏵ ELDRITCHES
PERCEIVE THE ARCHITECTS AS: HOSTILE ⚔
A natural hazard in the wasteland, eldritch mutants are capable of taking down larger groups of Architects if they wander carelessly. Currently, the Architects are not equipped with enough weaponry or ammunition to go looking for trouble against these mighty foes. While most opt to avoid eldritch mutants through the long route, some hope to muster enough strength to capture enough for further research.
⏵ BIOMASS
PERCEIVE THE ARCHITECTS AS: HOSTILE ⚔
The blight that Southpoint created in their mindless crusade to liberate mutantkind. It is the bane of all of our goals and it's only purpose in life is to spread and grow. Architect scientists are hard at work researching this plague, only time will tell if they make a breakthrough.
Category 5 Groups of Interest are groups that can have any quantity, but are particularly unique to their historical or specific political ties with the Architects. They are archived in the Architects for future reference.
⏵ ARKCORP
STATUS: DEFUNCT
The ARK Corporation, doing business as ARK was an American multinational conglomerate holding company focusing on cloud computing, biotechnology, social media, and energy infrastructure. ARK had been criticized for its monopolistic practices, and customer data collection, and has been party to a multitude of large-scale legal settlements related to fraud and other criminal misconduct. Today it is used as the corporate front for the Architects' public endeavors.
EVENT ONLY
⏵ HERETICS
PERCEIVE THE ARCHITECTS AS: HOSTILE ⚔
Heretics are Abrahamic tribesmen and women who have deliberately gone against the grain to hinder the Architects due to their extremist interpretations of the Society's core values, often holdouts of Technocratic or Communist ideology. Their hyperaggressive nature towards other tribes has netted them gear with close resemblance to an Architect during the early years of the Flash. Heretics will often live solitary lives, as they are often the last of their kin.
