The services are run by the ASUP Vice President and the programs are advised by the Associate Director of Student Activities, Elizabeth Parkman. The services and programs provide resources for students that help better their experience at UP. Events through these programs are usually either free or subsidized due to these being funded through ASUP and the student activities fee. Read below for details about each program and service!

Check out the ASUP Films instagram for updates on what films are showing.

Pilots Audio & Lighting (PAL), formerly CPB Sound, is a rental service providing sound and light equipment to campus organizations. Because this service is student-operated, it is not available during the Summer semesters.
If there are any questions please contact the PAL Director.
Director: Thomas Bell (pilotexpress@up.edu)

This service provides limited transportation to and from the airport, train station, and bus stations for Fall Break (October), Thanksgiving Break (November), Winter Break (December), Spring Break (March), Easter Break (March), and Summer Break (May). The Pilot Express is coordinated by a student director who supervises the student drivers and who reports to the ASUP Vice-President.
Because this is a student-operated service, the shuttle does not operate at the beginning of the academic year.
Sign-ups begin one to two weeks before each break.
Students should check the “My Announcements” section on the Pilots UP portal for sign-up announcements.
Students may also request to be put on the reminder email list by emailing the current Director
Come to the Office of Student Activities in St. Mary’s Student Center during the sign up period. You must pay with cash.
Business hours are 8:30am-6:00pm, Monday–Thursday; 8:30am-5:00pm Fridays.
Bring your flight/train/bus information and the appropriate amount of money to pay for your trip. See below for current rates.
The Pilot Express does not provide service to the Bolt Bus station due to the close proximity of the 35 and 44 Trimet Bus Lines.
Each ride is limited to 6 passengers, except during the Christmas Break when increased luggage requires us to limit each ride to 5 passengers.
After you sign up, you will receive a reminder sheet that details where to meet the shuttle, both departing and arriving, what to do if your travel plans change, contact information for the director, and a place to make a note of the details of your rides. If you have lost your sheet, you can download a new copy of the Reminder Sheet
Wheelchair Accessible Alternatives
If you have a disability and need wheelchair accommodation for rides to the airport or train station during breaks, please contact the Pilot Express Director, Thomas Bell, to request wheelchair accessible transportation.
Other Transportation Options:
There are several options using public and private transportation.
Take the MAX lightrail
A simple trip that uses the MAX shuttle run by Public Safety and only one transfer, the MAX is a cheap way to get to and from the airport.
Check out the trip planner and other schedules on www.trimet.org to plan your ride.
You can also use trimet.org to plan a ride using the city bus network.
Take the Green Shuttle! (503-234-1414).
They offer a flat rate of $24.00 each way from UP if you call before 7:00 pm the night before your needed ride.
Make sure to ask for the flat rate airport shuttle.
Take Uber of Lyft!
Download the app on your phone. Uber and Lyft can pick you up on campus and drop you off at your needed location.
Take a taxi!
Public Safety recommends Radio Cab (503-227-1212) and Broadway Cab (503-227-1234).
Ask around! Check with friends, your RA, or Hall Director to see if anyone can give you a ride.
The Campus Program Board (CPB) of the University of Portland is dedicated to providing students with fun, safe activities to foster community, pride, and involvement. We’re a student-run organization that plans unique events with funding from the ASUP Senate from the Student Activities Fee paid by all full-time undergraduate students. Student volunteers may serve on the leadership team to coordinate events like Riverboat, Rock the Bluff, Flavors of PDX, Dance of the Decades, and more. We bring the fun!
