Player Objectives and Progression
Who is the player in the game? The player is an ancient druid, a type of Celtic soothsayer who is charged with protecting her people from the creatures that cross worlds every year to sow mayhem.
Player Knowledge: At the beginning of the game, the player knows that they must travel to the portal in order to close it fully and save their village. To get there they must cast rituals to defeat enemies that hinder their travel.
Primary Goals: The player's main goals are to travel through all 10 encounters of the game and defeat the boss to fully close the portal. To get there they must collect more powerful rituals and hone their skills.
Moment-by-moment gameplay Moment-to-moment gameplay looks like the core loop. The player must defeat a contingent of attacking enemies using constellations to power their rituals. When the ritual is powered fully with the associated energy type it can be dragged onto the target. Once that current ritual is used a new one moves to take its place to begin being powered up.
Long-term goals The game is split into 10 enemy encounters and 3 narrative encounters interspersed between them. As you progress enemies will increase in difficulty. To meet this difficulty curve the player must upgrade and collect rituals of a higher rarity. In the final stage, the player will have to utilize all of their abilities to defeat the final boss and close the portal.
