The titular card of the booster, the "Raging Flames" portion. Baur Vairina is what most players have been asking for — a drive check on Vairina. Baur Vairina doesn't solve most of the problems for what Nirvana Jheva decks have: lack of counterblasts. The ability to drive check 4 times with 3 counterblasts is pretty good, though!
The retiring portion is pretty costly for its effect, but with some of the new support cards, soul is not that big a problem. Best to keep this at 1-2 for its effect, but remember not to overdo it with the counterblast!
Or just do it, Vanguard is supposed to be fun anyway and Baur Vairina sure as hell is fun :)
Powerful skill for X-Overdress units, though again it's costly at the cost of counterblasts (Jheva decks really need a lot of them, unfortunately). When this unit becomes an originalDress, you can [Counter Blast (1)] to [Soul Charge (1)] and retire an opponent's unit.
It's very useful for Baur Vairina, supplementing soul to retire more enemy units. Again, this uses counterblasts, so please be mindful of that when you're X-Overdressing!
Otherwise, G2 Prayer Dragons are relatively rare, so it's very useful to have them on the field to battle.
Lavamane is another new addition to this set. After boosting a unit with Nirvana in its name, it goes to the soul and grants a unit with an originalDress +10000 Power.
Now, I know what you're thinking.
Didn't we get something similar in DSS01? (Blaze Maiden, Mirin)
Slightly better than Mirin and at a lower rarity, Lavamane provides soul for Baur Vairina as well as give it some power.
This is not limited to the Nirvana Jheva deck — it can be used with Mahar Nirvana decks as well! Give your Esperaridea or Valiente extra power and fill up your soul.
Youthberk decks got a huge upgrade in DBT07! Being the "Emerald Storm" of the titular booster, Tempest is most certainly a huge boost to Youthberk decks.
After you RevolDress this card onto the VG Circle, your front row gains +5000 Power. After paying the cost [Counter Blast (1)], you may reveal the top 2 cards of your deck, choose an opponent with a rearguard that has the same cost as one of the revealed cards and put it at the bottom of his deck. Then add the revealed cards to your hand.
A powerful effect that strengthens your allies and removes your opponent's pesky rearguards, while being able to draw 2? Incredibly useful, Tempest has taken the place of Zests in the original Youthberk decks (sorry Zest, persona ride dependence is so season 1).
Sequana is a very good addition to Youthberk decks. With it being able to be a 10000 booster, it allows your Youthberks to hit the right value. But that's not the main reason you run Sequana.
After your RevolDress Vanguard appears on the VG Circle, Sequana can place herself into the soul and set your Vanguard's Drive to 1. Yes, Tempest and Zest will get one drive check.
As for Gust, because both their effects occur at the same time, if you resolve Sequana's effect first before resolving Gust's effect, you essentially get Twin Drive again on Gust (1 drive from Sequana, and +1 from Gust).
Remember to resolve them in the correct order, otherwise you won't get the effects!
Youthberk has a lot of discard costs and what better way to abuse them than to play Wayward Therapy Angel!
At 10k base as a booster, Wayward cannot be normal called or ridden (no cheese shenanigans as a vanguard for 10k base at g1). However, when Wayward is discarded during your turn when your Vanguard is g3 or higher, you may [Soul Blast (1)] to call her out onto the field.
Really powerful for the discarding as RevolForm: Gust as well as the G3 turn rides and Skyfall Arms' own effect!
Ever since Drajeweled's TD form in DTD02, everyone has been anticipating him for a long time.
A powerful card by itself and also a big nope to defensive OverTriggers, Drajeweled has the ability to set your opponent's Vanguard to 1 Power, regardless of its current power at the moment. If your opponent is at G3, Drajeweled even gets a critical!
His second ability is [Counter Blast (1)] to [Soul Charge (2)] and if they are both different grades, you get to draw a card. Works really well with his condition of having to [Soul Blast (4)] different grade cards in order to set the opponent power to 1.
What allies does Drajeweled bring to the field to abuse this effect?
Rockagour is a staple in any Drajeweled deck. When it attacks an opponent's G3 or higher vanguard, if there are 4 or more different grades in your soul, it gets + 10000 Power.
In addition to being a 20000 Power beatstick, it also has the ability to restand when you [Soul Blast (4)] or more different grade cards for your Vanguard's ability, synergizing perfectly with Drajeweled.
A must have for any good Drajeweled deck, making it a multi-attack deck!
A very simple effect, Falcate Performer allows the player to add a unit from their drop zone to their Vanguard's soul, as long as they do not have a card of that grade in the soul.
This allows you to put an early G3 into the soul to ensure Drajeweled's effect goes off on the turn you ride it!
Other decks run a tech G4 Bruce to ensure you'll always have a target for Falcate Performer as long as you blast it out early and discard it early for any ride deck or sentinel costs!
Brandt Gate gets yet ANOTHER ride line in this set that I genuinely hope does not get overlooked (looking at you, Heroes). The CEO has arrived and this time he has a myriad of Products to play with; and none of them are really safe.
Welstra's gimmick plays around with the Set Orders called Products, and each of them revolve around retiring your opponent's rearguards or reducing your opponent's Power (Zeal, anyone?) or both. The Products "upgrade" over time and they become much better effects, with the final product being a 23k attacker rearguard.
Welstra allows you to Operate a Product when he attacks (essentially, using the Order's effect). He also gets +5000 Power whenever an order is Operated (spoiler alert, you can Operate more than 1 of it a turn with your rearguards).
Hoflio is the key to this deck. It allows you to Operate a Product at the cost of [Counter Blast (1) and Soul Blast (1)] if you've not Operated one this turn.
Hoflio gives you the opportunity to Operate your Products more than once, increasing your Welstra's Power while decreasing your opponent's Vanguard's Power. It also allows you to call more than one Freischutz Maximum (the G3 Product, 23000 Power).
How do you get more than one Freischutz Maximum by turn 4 though?
Schtart is the key for you to get 2 Freischutz Maximum by Turn 4. Schtart gives you a chance to turbo your Freischutz Maximum with [Counter Blast (1)] and retiring this unit as well as a G2 Freischutz, and to search your deck for a Freischutz Maximum to add to your Order Zone.
By playing another G2 Freischutz on this turn and going into Welstra on the next turn, you can have 2 Frei Maximum on the field! The cost is not too high although you do have to sacrifice a rearguard, but a 23000 Power rearguard is sufficient to make up for the loss!
