Reflection:
The service activity I completed involved decorating pots with stickers and markers, planting succulents, and writing notes to the residents of a skilled nrusing facillty. The organization being served was City Creek Post Acute. I was the leader of the activity, running it alongside my partner Becca. While interacting with the psychosocial clinic clients, I learned that I am capable of running a successful group session with clients who have cognitive disabilities. This experience helped me realize that I can foster a positive and engaging environment, even when faced with challenges. While creating and implementing the service project, I learned the importance of planning, communication, and adaptability to ensure the activity went smoothly. Over the course of the psychosocial clinic, I developed specific skills in leading group activities, managing diverse needs, and providing support for individuals with cognitive challenges. This clinic also helped me understand the importance of community and service in both my life and the lives of others, reinforcing that small acts of kindness and thoughtful interactions can significantly impact the well-being of individuals.
