In the second meeting we met at UCBA and talked about how to handle our mental health while abroad and packing tips. Before arriving to the meeting we were instructed to complete a self-care guide that prompted us process how we would handle our mental health overseas. This guide was helpful to create so that myself and others know what would help me in different situations. Embedded below is my self-care assignment. Once at the meeting we brainstormed how we would help ourselves and others if someone were struggling with their mental health overseas. This helped me to realize what other people need when they are feeling a certain way and to better understand how I could help in that situation. We also spent time talking about packing which was helpful since I have not traveled for longer than two weeks. We talked about bag sizes, space saving techniques, and packing do’s and don’ts. This meeting helped me to learn more about my peers and how I could help them through difficult times. It also taught me how to pack for a month-long abroad trip.
