Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, students stayed within their cohorts and did not engage with the larger community for our usual strum-alongs, mini-concerts, etc. As students learned about kanikapila (Hawaiian ukulele song shares) they were interested in hosting their own. Students requested specific songs and supported each other's choices by strumming along during each song.

5th and 6th grade students traveled to Riverfront Community Center for Glastonbury Uke Band's monthly BIG SING.
The Glastonbury Ukulele Band visited Ashford School for some intergenerational music-making. Students and bandmembers performed for one another and also all together.
5th grade students planned and performed mini-concerts for Ashford's youngest students.
