Music Technology

Ashford School is fortunate to have a MIDI Lab, equipped with MIDI keyboards, Garageband, and Sibelius.  The MIDI Lab allows students to improvise and compose their own musical ideas using technology.  The MIDI keyboards provide students with the opportunity to learn to play piano as well.

Students are formally introduced to music technology, in its most basic forms, starting in 4th grade. 
As students move into the middle school years, they engage with web-based music technology including Chrome Music Lab and BeepBox.  In time, students apply their prior knowledge and experience using Garageband, Noteflight, and the MIDI keyboards.
