The following report was written by Italian student Angelica Iannello
Our wonderful experience started precisely on the 26th November from our local airport in Lamezia Terme where we were all excited for our departure.
We finally arrived at the airport in Frankfurt at 10.30,where the respective host families warmly welcomed us. We were all surprised for the lovely welcome that we found in their homes.
On Monday we met at the "Adolf-Reichwein-Gymnasium" at 8.00, here there was a brief introduction on what would have been our daily program and each team introduced themselves to the rest of the Erasmus groups. Since we were a lot of students we were divided into two smaller groups and in turns we visited the school and we did the "ice breaking activity" which consisted in games based on memory and comunication. After the coffee break, we started to present our works of art, everybody was enthusiastic to see the creations of the other countries. At 12.00 we had lunch at the school cafeteria and later in the afternoon we had the opportunity to meet and speak with the photographer Sandra Mann, who is a contemporary national artist. We then went to the school gym where we did sport activities which helped us to know each other more.
We met at Heusenstamm station to go to Frankfurt, as soon as we arrived we went for a short walk to St.Paul's Cathedral, at 10.00 we visited the 'KunsthalleSchirn' and then had lunch in Frankfurt. Later we went to the Maintower and Fotoforum and after a long artistic and cultural day we had some free time and some of us returned to Heusenstamm, while others with their hosts stayed in Frankfurt and had a great time in this magnificient city.
We went to school and had an Art and Mathematics lesson showing us how maths can be found in every single object, after a short break there was an interesting speech and discussion on art until lunch break. We took the bus to go to the Soccer Center and here we played Bubble Soccer, an activity that we had never done before. We were a bit frightened at the beginning because it seemed dangerous but on the contrary it was loads of fun. Students and teachers participated making it a mingling friendly activity.
We met at Heusenstamm station to go to Offenbach, we arrived at the HfG (University of Art & Design) and here there was a small introduction by Prof. Peter Eckhart, after which we got divided into groups and we visited the school. At the end we had lunch at the university cafeteria having the opportunity of meeting university students. Then we had two seminars, the first one with Prof. Martin Liebscher and secondly with Prof. Heiner Blum. We then took the bus to go to Seligenstadt, the activity here was a sort of little treasure hunt looking for places to take specific selfies. The town was surrounded by a traditional Christmas market where we had some free time to buy some presents before dinner.
We met at Heusenstamm station to go to Frankfurt, here we went to an indoor market, then we visited the MMK museum which was different than a usual museum thank to a part of the museum dedicated to interactive art. We headed back to Heusenstamm, where we were very excited for the final ceremony that made us very emotional. All the students at the end of the day had organized a disco bowling night which ended up being a perfect end to this wonderful activity 4.
