Sea ice concentration animations

Below are animations of the sea ice concentration maps from Bremen University.  The data have been smoothed by using a running 5-day or 3-day (pixel-wise) median to remove some daily fluctuations and artifacts in those images.

This page is only updated during the late melt season (mid-July to mid-September).
