Over the past year, I have discovered a largely previously unknown passion for math’s. For much of my life, I have been uninterested in math’s, despite being told by a lot of people that I am good at it. I think through specific instances recently in both my internship and project work I have come to the realization that numbers just seem to work really well with my brain, and a numerical representation of information can be very helpful for me to understand concepts.
(Right): Learning Calculus with Mr. Russell.
I have recently been working on my math’s skills with the help of a mentor, Mr. Russell. Mr. Russell’s help has been invaluable so far, he has been able to direct me and provide me with work that isn’t too easy or too hard. We have been working on topics such as trigonometry, algebra, and calculus. This experience has significantly benefited my passion and enjoyment of math’s work.

Although I am a bit nervous about it, I am ultimately looking forward to the added challenge of the math's work that I will have to learn in university.
