Ted Kuo is currently Professor and Dean of the College of Artificial Intelligence at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU), Taiwan. His academic work focuses on distributed systems, blockchain technologies, federated learning, and privacy-enhancing computation. Prior to joining NYCU, he spent more than two decades in Silicon Valley, where he served as Chief Architect and later Global Chief Strategy Officer at D-Link, overseeing global R&D centers and launching the company’s first cloud platform, mydlink. He has also worked at IBM, Nortel, Cisco, and Xerox PARC, and is an inventor on several patents in network service virtualization. Dr. Kuo received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from North Carolina State University.
Masayuki Ariyoshi has been engaged in research and development in the field of wireless communications and radar-based sensing for more than 30 years. He received BE and ME degrees in electrical engineering and a PhD in information and computer science from Keio University, Japan. He is a Senior Principal Researcher at Advanced Network Research Laboratories, NEC Corporation, leading R&D projects whose scope includes network optimization for satellite constellations and integrated terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks. Concurrently, he is a Research Professor at the Graduate School of Information Sciences, Tohoku University, directing the NEC x Tohoku University Co-Creation Institute of Space-Integrated Network for Resilient Digital Transformation since its establishment in November 2023. He was awarded for technical contributions including the Best Paper Award from Wireless Innovation Forum in 2015, Telecommunication Technology Award/ TTC President Award in 2019, the Best Paper Award from Congress of Japan Railway Cybernetics in 2021, the Best Paper Award/ Paper of the Year 2023 Award from IEICE in 2024. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and a Fellow of IEICE.
Chi-Yu Li is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU), where he also serves as the Deputy Director of the IT Center. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2015. Dr. Li’s research interests span wireless networking, network security, and edge AI. He has published extensively in top-tier conferences in the fields of networking and cybersecurity, including ACM MobiCom, IEEE INFOCOM, and ACM CCS. His work has been recognized with numerous honors and awards, such as the ACM SIGMOBILE Research Highlights (2023, 2025), the Y. Z. Hsu Technology Invention Award (2022), the K. T. Li Cornerstone Award (2022), the Best Community Paper Award Runner-Up at ACM MobiCom 2022, and the Best Paper Award at IEEE CNS 2018. He has also received NSTC FutureTech Awards for three consecutive years (2020-2022) and NSTC Young Scholar Research Grants in 2017, 2020, and 2023.
Kyungbaek Kim (Member, IEEE) received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering and computer science from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), South Korea, in 1999, 2001, and 2007, respectively. He is currently a Professor with the Department of Artificial Intelligence Convergence, Chonnam National University. Previously, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher with the Department of Computer Sciences, University of California, Irvine, CA, USA. His research interests include intelligent distributed systems, software-defined networks/infrastructure, big data platforms, GRID/cloud systems, social networking systems, AI applied cyber-physical systems, blockchain, and other distributed systems issues. He is a member of ACM, IEICE, KIISE, KIPS, KICS, KIISC, and KISM.
