How do you tell if woodworm is active?

The Signs of an Active Woodworm Infestation

It can be tricky to tell if you have an active woodworm infestation as the primary damage gets caused inside the timber and you're unlikely to see any visible results for years. However, many telltale signs can help you identify a potential woodworm infestation:

Fresh sawdust around the holes. When the larvae are eating up the wood, sawdust is very likely to appear near the new holes.

A simple way to check for an active woodworm problem is to clean the area around your furniture/roof timber/floorboards well and keep track if new frass or sawdust appears near the holes.

If possible, mark the existing holes and after some time (a week or two) check to see if there are new ones.

Do holes look differently? Are there weird sounds, dead larvae or beetles near wooden surfaces. An even more definite sign of activity sees a beetle fly out of the wood.

Tunnels in the wood. The Longhorn beetle can leave tunnelling marks on your furniture.

How much does pigeon removal cost?

How much does wasp nest treatment cost?

The cost of a wasp nest treatment is £65.00. This price will not change even if the nest is difficult to treat and there is no VAT added to this price.

If you want the nest removed after the treatment, then this is an extra £30 fee depending on if the nest is accessible. Please note wasps will not reuse the nest.

Where do hornets usually nest?

Can I have more than one wasp nest?

Yes, you may have multiple wasp nests on your property. Typically, you need to walk around the outside of your home or business and look for wasp activity nearby.

Then call us, and we will treat all the wasp nests the same time at your property, additional wasp nests, we charge £10 extra per nest on the same visit.

The dominant nest will get treated, however, if you have other smaller nests, the colony will quickly grow now the giant nest has gone, and you will have a wasp problem again six weeks later.

Do you wear protective clothing for wasp removal?

Our method of approaching the nest is safe since we are trained pest controllers and wear protective clothing at all times of the operation.

What's the wasp exterminator costs?

We charge a fixed price for treating a wasp nest, and our price is £65 for the wasp nest location up to the eaves on the house.
