I'm currently employed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts' Executive Office of Technology Services and Security's Security Operations Center (EOTSS SOC) As you may guess, we like our acronyms. I'm essentially their portfolio manager, with side-hustles into project management, workflow analysis and improvements, documentation management, and training up people to run their security tabletop exercises.
Before that, I served for 12 years as a Manager of Program Managers at Akamai Technologies, starting in the InfoSec team. That involved a lot of leading through influence, clear communication through documentation, running meetings, user interviews, testing, training, change management, and, on occasion, bribery through homemade confections. I tend to be the person who arranges the potlucks and the outings, and keeps the chat rooms going.
I developed my Program Management skills as a Technical Support manager, working on new tools, bringing in better ACDs, helping produce better updates to the software. I also served as Product Manager for Toolkit6, ICLUBcentral's flagship product, and various internal tools at Akamai.
