7 stud, when one person folds, everyone left gets another card face down IMMEDIATELY. When everyone has 7 cards, immediate showdown.
It started off innocently enough. Playing follow the Queen, new deck, forgot take out the Jokers. Hmm...what's follow the Joker? Viv came up with the following (subject to +Vivian Abraham's approval):
7-card stud, include the Jokers. Jokers and Aces are Villains. The next player after a Villain turns up can reveal a hole card, stating "I'm Batman!". That rank is now wild for all players. (leading to the occasional "I'm Batman!" - "So am I!") If another Villain appears, that may not be the true Batman, and another Batman has the opportunity to arise.
* Villains cannot be Batman
* If the next card up is also a Villain, that player cannot be Batman.
* If a full round goes by and no one has claimed they are Batman, Batman does not show, and any previous Batman is still Batman.
* Jokers are high, but cannot be included in straights or flushes.
* If you fold with a Villain showing, you state that you are a cowardly and superstitious lot.
>> This one was quite popular - we called it four times. The winning hand last time around was Jokers full of 7s.
Anaconda + Crapper. 7 cards to each player, who then passes 3 cards in a direction, then two, then one. Form a 5 card hand, place it down, then roll them one at a time, betting in between. High-low split between best and worst flush.
Bolshevik revolution is missing - probably because the name is similar to French Revolution, which *is* in the book.
7-card stud, where players get two down, three up, one down, and a community card up at the end. Nothing is wild, and all face cards are dead. The royals are killed, and it all ends in a commune.
Anaconda + Pointillism: Plays as Anaconda, low hand splits with the highest number of pips. Think twice about handling over that 10! [thought about high hand / high pips split, but realized there's no tension, folks would pass the lowest cards every time. Viv points out players would just pass face cards. Needs work.]
