Component 5.b: Implement formative assessments that monitor student learning before and throughout the long-term plan, as well as summative assessments that evaluate student learning upon completion of the long-term plan.
Artifact: PED 434 Final Presentation
Date: Fall 202
Reflection:
This 434 project was a great way of learning how to implement an assessment to see student's progress and learning. The first section is the packet with the standards and outcomes, assessments, block plan, and analysis of results. The second section is a psychomotor pre and post-test that would be used by the teacher to observe and grade the students on their progress from before the lesson and after the lesson. The third section is a video presentation given to the class. The fourth section is a work sample, which includes the quiz given to the class before they watched the video presentation, and then again after.
This project relates to Component 5.b because it is a deep dive into assessments to monitor student learning. This was the first time in the program I worked to create a long-term plan with assessments like this. The first thing My group and I did was gave our class a pre-test. We then gave the lesson followed by the assessment and compared the pre test scores to the post test score to see if the class learned and the scores improved. This is important for a physical educator because the implementation of assessments is a crucial part of planning a lesson and seeing if that lessons is resulting in student learning.
